So I have a Polisher bought from Canada,

It came with a backing plate of 7". I am looking for a 5" with foam pads

(I use meguiar products)

1. Backing Plate 5" or near that
2. Foam Pad for Compound (I use meguiar compound)
3. Foam Pad for Polishing (I use meguiar polisher)
4. Foam Pad for Glazing, applying wax (I use meguiar NXT Wax)

Next concern I wanted to address, I feel like my wax doesn't stick well to my car. After one rain, its like gone. I need to prepare for canada winter!

I apply the NXT 2.0 Wax from Meguiar with the polisher, I use a cotton bonnet... and I wait till it haze to wipe it off with a MF towel. Usually takes 3-4 minutes to haze. What am I doing wrong?
Any tips?

Follow the instructions on the label of the product. Usually 3-4 minutes is enough for it to haze, but not enough for it to harden. I would do the whole car and by the time you finish, where you started is ready to be buffed.

Try using a sealant before the wax. Sealant will last a lot longer and you can top it off with wax if you desire for the shine. I use the polishing and finishing pads from Chemical guys. They also have different size backing plates

And don't think the wax is all gone after a rain or two. You may not get the same beading as when it is fresh but it is still there protecting the finish even though it may not seem like it. Try clay baring without stripping the wax first and you will soon discover there is more there than it appears.

This is key. I exclusively use Blackfire for this specific application. Followed by your wax of choice.

I wanted to quote you all, the NXT is a polymer so it should be a hybrid between a sealent and a wax. It was called waxed for the confusion in the shelves. If I am wrong, correct me! I will check Chemical Guys (last time I checked it was expensive

If you're sticking to off the shelf stuff, Meguiar's Ultimate Wax lasts a really long time. It's all synthetic, so it's actually a sealant.

I got the 6.5in pads and they're about 10 bucks a pop, but I found a kit on Amazon that comes with 7 pads and pad cleaner for 40 shipped. Actually $48 but with instant $8 off.

Ditch that thing and get a random orbital... the learning curve with a rotary is steep and unforgiving.

These pads take a while to ship but they are cheap enough to use and dispose of.

I like this 6" pad and order them in lots of 30 and use them on a 5" Velcro backing plate. Cheap and disposable.

I can confirm it last long. Have half a bottle sitting in the garage. Hoping it is still good to use.
