I went for a ride in a 2gr swapped MR-S on Tuesday of this week. It was very impressive to say the least. I will watch this thread with interest to see if that is the engine you choose.

I've been eyeing a 2gr swapped MR2 on sale locally. Bet that's a fun car with all that torque and relatively light weight. Very tempting.

I don't think the ISF engine would fit at all.

It will really pin you to the seats. If I might ask, where is the one for sale located? Spyders with the 2GR swap are pretty rare. Especially if they are turn key with everything working such as no CEL and functioning air conditioning.

Back on topic. Has the decision on which engine to go with been made yet?

Do the 3uz if its a good amount cheaper, but personally I'd go with the 2gr for this car if money wasn't the object.

Now if it was more powerful v8 vs. less powerful v6 I'd completely understand. I'll take an ls1 over either. But I've heard great things about the 2gr and that powerband looks really cool for this type of car.

Considering your criteria though, being

1) Primary DD
2) A lot cheaper

v8 makes so much sense. Plus it'll sound so much better, and that's a *huge* wad of torque comparatively. I've heard people talk of the innovate drifting in 3rd gear, this thing will be sure to be more fun for a DD.

Weekend/canyon car 2gr all the way.

Well since the OP was banned back in 2014 I highly doubt you will ever know.

You know...mods should really change the color of the name to make it more clear that that user is banned. Usually MAGENTA in bold is what everyone else uses.

Not a bad idea really. In the last 24 hours there have been three people asking banned guys for info that they are probably never going to get. Probably still happen though.
Bit nervous posting on this thread at all since about half the people that did when it was active are now banned.

That's my old account. I went ahead with the swap, but chose the v8 over the v6.

Ahhh of course, don't blame you for going with the extra cylinders. Can I ask why you went with the 1UZ over the 2GR
