Well since this is "the internet", where are your sources that indicate the triangles are there for treadwear, and not roll-over indicators? I'm willing to accept that I've been in the wrong for years, but I'd like to see some evidence

This corner of the internet is for 86 owners

Lol jk, I'm very curious to see how the ND's perform. I love the idea of one, just not ready to spead $30k on one. Just like I couldn't justify paying $25k+ for an 86, which is why I waited a few years.

Seriously? So I'm sure you have evidence that the triangles are rollover indicators right? Not just internet folklore?

Go look at your tires right now. For every triangle on the shoulder, if you follow where the triangle is "pointing" you will find a wear bar. Anyone who says otherwise is spreading misinformation.

FWIW on the Rival S you can clearly see a change in color between the tread cap and the carcass, and it actually occurs above the point where the shoulder tread blocks end. It's not even close to where the triangles are, and if you roll over that far you start losing grip because you are relying on the sidewall rubber instead of the actual performance rubber.

Touche. I guess everything I've ever heard from fellow autox'er is to check the triangles for checking rollover.

I guess I need to change my "gauge" for checking tire rollover.

It's unfortunate, but there are a lot of really talented autocrossers who can be really misguided on random things. The guys in my region who have 5-6 jackets? They are almost always right. Anyone else? I'm getting 2nd and 3rd opinions.

Since we run at Fort Myers regularly, we get a lot of practice shifting.

I went with 235/45 this year to see if I could reduce the number of shifts, and I still have to shift pretty frequently.

Yeah, sorry. I guess I came across a little strong. I've just seen so many discussions about using the triangles for rollover, and they just aren't for that. If you look at them from one tire to another, you can see they are in different vicinities of the edge of the tread. And like renfield said, you can actually see the change from tread to sidewall on BFGs and some others.

I can't find a clear answer as to weather or not the STI front lip is CS legal. I don't want to install it then go to a national event and get protested.

I just really like the look and helps protect the bumper from cones.

Most likely not legal unless you have a Series Blue

So is it legal to have a 16x7 on these cars? Do we have the plus or minus one allowance as long as it is oem width?

Yes. Width must stay the same but diameter can go up or down.

Next question. Im going to be running a SSR Type-C 16x7. Should i mount a 205/55/16 or a 225/50/16? 7.0 inch vs 7.6" tread widths. Same diameters within 2 hundredths of an inch.

For C-Street... 225. There's no reason to go narrower than stock.
