It truly does sound amazing. But, personally, only as the header-back or catback set up. That's why I have the Q300 to quiet it down and reduce the rasp.

Yeah its very loud with the header. If I ever change to the cossy header I'll get a custom made mid pipe with the biggest silencer(s) possible!... and a helmotz resonator.

Looking forward to get cracking with the install.

So... don't get me wrong here, the Cosworth is a great bit of kit... but I'm hoping for some honesty from some owners.

Is it really worth the price? It's definitely more expensive than most other kits - and in like-for-like comparisons it seems that many different makes produce very similar horsepower.

Basically... Would you buy the kit again or spend the same amount of cash on another kit, and use the change for other cool stuff (on your car or otherwise)!!!???

The build quality and engineering with respect to charge cooling specifically are stellar - I have not seen any heat soak even on 100°F days - IAT stays just above ambient with very little fluctuation - maybe 2-5°F...

^^ I plan to do plenty of track testing and post up logs to back up what Cosworth have been saying.

I went with the cosworth because:

1) Chargecooling is amazing - as above will post logs in due course
2) Positive displacement for that bigger engine feel
3) The calibration files. I know for a fact that they put some things into the tune which are not often considered by local shops. There is only so much you can do with an engine in the car.
4) The kit was designed by people that are accustomed to F1 level of engine design. That means they have access to, and experience of, the highest level of engine technology.

To those of you with Oil coolers fitted infront of the radiator. Did you measure IAT before and after fitting the oil cooler?

I've had oil up to 282F NA on multiple occasions so I got a big Setrab 913 radiator to fit. I do wonder how much adding a big oil radiator infront of the Cossy radiator affects IAT....

Cosworth IATs are lower much than that though. Cruising at 60mph its like 3C about ambient. Adrian @ Fensport said max he'd seen driving it hard on the road while mapping doing long WOT pulls was 8C above ambient.

I dont mind if they go up 5C to be honest. I'd rather that then 140C + Oil temps!

The main reasons I considered the Cosworth kit are as follows:

Positive Displacement: because it's freakin' cool

Water-to-Air Intercooler: at the time it was the only one (now there's harrop and edelbrock), plus it's more efficient.

Cosworth: a little more unique, plus they are well renowned for their racing herritage. I've gotten so many people asking about it because they saw my Cosworth plaque on the back of my car. When I got my front bumper repainted, the shop owner had to pop the hood and was awed by my supercharger.

The pricing was steep, yes. And many kits make the same power ~250whp. But I've had 0 major issues, and only a couple minor easy fixes. Plus the tune came with it, which means the tuning has been tested. And that made me feel comfortable about it. Also it's not as common as say, Vortech, JR, or KW.

Would I do it again? Yes and no. Yes because there's less hassle in terms of tuning. No because damn it really infects you with the mod bug and makes you yern for more power. Also there's not a smaller pulley on the market for it... yet.

That answers many of my questions... I also like this kit, but really think it's overpriced. Going edelbrock early next year for most of the Sam reasons you have above.
