Continually updating two posts up. Anyone else experienced all this? Any advice? trust the dealer to make it right, or turn the screws with an attorney?

Just as the previous comment, I did took the battery of the car and it reseted the ECU. Since then it's just fine, although I haven't driven it hard again, just in the city, where I can't go fast.

I'm a little afraid, I don't know if I must sell the car or keep it. It's by far, the funniest car I've driven. I don't have any warranty and I know you must be thinking how stupid I am for buying this car without doing any research about it's problems.

I just noticed your car is modded, P0171 comes with an intake leak or exhaust leak in the flange so I would check there as well as make sure the O2 sensors are working properly. If it's an exhaust leak it's gonna be from the engine block to the flange of the header, might need a grimmspeed exhaust gasket upgrade?

If it's an intake issue which seems more likely with the supercharger, I would check all the intake pipes any loose hose clamp will leak air and then cause the maf to go full shit mode and think it's running lean

Thanks for the info! It was the intake. I rechecked all of the clamps, and I didn't tighten them very good after changing my air filter. The exhaust is solid, I made sure of that! Plus I used grimmspeed gaskets from the start since they are the best.

Feel free to update mine. Mine went in another 3 times. Last night I brought it in, they updated ECM firmware or whatever, gave it back to me "fixed". 20 minutes of driving later it came on again. Unsure what the hell is going to happen now, they have my car and I'm awaiting word. I'm going to go for Lemon Law soon.

EDIT: New ECM needed, 2 available in USA, none on east coast. yay

Different but related. Still related to cam sensors, and now need another ECU. All in all I've had the following codes,

Visits to shop:

1:
P0018
P0021
2:
P0018 (again)
3:
P0021 (again)
4:
P00A
5:
They took it, explained on phone but I forget which code they said. Cam stuff as before. New ECM needed. Again.

Have they done anything with the cam that you know of? They can throw all the ECMs in the world at it but nothing will change if they don't fix the root cause.

Hell cam sensors were such a problem in the early ones that there is a TSB for them.

2013 Scion FR-S 51k miles, throwing p0016 code.

Dropped her off about an hour ago, waiting to hear back. The dealership acknowledged the TSB and are taking a look. Signature symptoms of rough idle are apparent. *Crossing fingers*

Have you brought it in yet? It could be something like an OCV valve, and not necessarily ECU related.
