Have them replace the bumper for free, unacceptable.

At first the salesman was just apologizing, saying he wasn't there to make my requests known when the vehicle arrived last night. The 'techs' apparently go into auto mode. It sounded as if he wouldn't do anything to remedy the situation. Reached the point of canceling, and I said, I was currently at work and would think about it for a few hours. He called back a minute later, but I was unable to answer. Left a voicemail saying, he 'spoke with our Sales Manager, and we definitely want to make this right for you.'

I've asked about replacing the part waiting to hear back now.

I can live with the plastics being taken off. The clear bra is scheduled for 11/10 (original eta was 11/9). But my OCD will get to me over something like that...

Mine came with a chipped bumper and they tried to say that I would have to pay for the respray. I said no way and they backed down. This is infinitely worse, I totally understand you would be mad. I was mad just when they put on the stupid dealership sticker on the back window. I peeled it off once I signed the paperwork before I drove it out of the showroom haha.

Wow, that's insane they expected you to pay for the respray.

Yeah, I'm just expecting something else to follow. I always felt in the back of my mind they'd fuck up a simple request like this, just hoping I'd be proven wrong. Then it happens, and I start losing track of reality. Haha

Their response:

Good afternoon John,

We are going to replace your front bumper, so we can forget about any drilled holes. The bumper has been ordered, and should arrive here by Friday.

Hopefully smooth sailing from here. <_< .... >_> .... <_<

Damn first world problems.

Wonder how they're dealing with paint? Color matching on bumpers is already hell, now that you'll have paint that wasn't in the same batch as your car, painted at a different time, who knows where... man, you should make them give you some accessories or something too. This is a big screw up.

I've had to yell at dealers about this before. I've been known as "that guy" when buying a new car and going overboard on making sure they wouldn't put holes in my new paint. I just can't fathom how useless people have to be to screw something up like that.

God damn it.... I hadn't thought about the painting. What method of suicide would you recommend?

That would mean I couldn't clear-bra the bumper for like 60-90 days, right?

I really despise this whole dealership method. Amazon needs to sell cars.

Yeah - you'll also have to deal with potential diminished value on the car since the bumper won't have the vin tag on it! A potential buyer down the road will think the car was wrecked. Honestly, I would consider walking away at this point. It sucks, but you shouldn't have to deal with that crap on a brand new car.

No. Grab me an underside photo when you get a minute. Also random question, what color is the LED?

I suspect this is a Karr brand alarm, actually. There's probably a sensitivity adjust for the shock sensor on that module.

Very good point. I would assume if it was ever totaled, insurance might look the same way at the bumper being replaced once.

I'm going to just go talk with the sales manager tomorrow. I can wait two more months to order another one either from this dealer or another. It's absolutely ridiculous. This is my first new car purchase.
