The suction cup that comes with it is probably the stickiest phone mount I've ever seen. It's a bitch to relocate if you have to move it, and it sticks even harder when the weather is cold. I had one stuck to my Jeep windshield so tight that it started to tear before it would come loose. I had to wait until it was warmer to get it off.

But the cradle part is really handy.

That thread has another post in it with more specific information and links to the tools I used. There's also a second thread in which I talked about it. It's not a step-by-step tutorial, but between these two threads you would have all the info you need if you're patient and handy with tin snips.

Phone Mounts - my posts about this are on page 1

Phone Holder for FR-S - again on page 1

I think I said mostly the same things in both threads, but I may have included more info in one or the other. I can't remember and don't feel like reading it all again.

I know it says one fits a 5 inch and the other doesn't but are they trying to say 5 inch width or 5 inch in height?

I can't remember the product code, but I bought it 2 years ago, for my iPhone 5, and just recently upgraded to the 6S and it fits fine. The 6Plus though might be a little to big, I don't know anyone with the plus, otherwise I'd test it for you.

The tablet mount is best for horizontal orientation too, it doesn't have grips to hold the phone vertically, so you'd have to make sure it was gripping the phone snugly.

Okay thank you. I'd probably go with something else then cause I don't know how to find out. I don't think they have this product in stores otherwise I'd go test it out.

To the $60 beat rush mount. I think I've decided on the Scosche. . . It's only 14 bucks. If it doesn't work with my heavy phone, I can just give it to my brother or dad. Then opt for the expensive mount lol.

i like the magnet mount because you dont have to worry about if the arms are tight enough and if you need to grab it quickly it comes right off. its also effortless to change orientation from portrait to landscape. for people that autocross or race they can put a mount on the dash and record from there.

the kit i bought has two metal plates so i put them both in my setup.

The scoche magnetic? I took mine off my previous car but it doesn't stick well to the dashboard. Not sure if it's because I replaced the sticky pad or the "carbon fibre" isn't something it'd stick to well anyway. I used industrial double sided tape from our car wrap shop.

yea the mount is stuck on with 3m adhesive so its solid. the top and bottom portions of the mount flex a little bit so the surface can be slightly curved. just make sure to clean the dash where you will tape it to so it sticks to the dash and not the dirt. the package actually came with some cleaning wipes.

Is that the "original" scoche mount?
