Fr-s vs. Saturn Sky Redline - would your rather
Nothing wrong with my sky i just want to know what you think is better. I cant find all the parts I need. We all know Saturn is now a different kind of company by it being dead, its fine because its just a pontiac under the skin. All i want to know if you think one is better than the other and if you would pick it based on that fact (ex. mpg, reliablity, corners, airbags LOL, quality or speed, price, ect)

For MPG, it's hard to say. I have a Cobalt SS (same engine as your Redline) and I'm getting about 25 MPG. The FR-S, depending on which transmission, seems to get the same, if not better MPG, while still using premium gas. As for as reliability, I would probably go with Scion. My Cobalt SS has been having random engine/turbo issues from time to time. Corners, unless your Redline has LSD, I would think the FR-S corners a bit better. Airbags... those fit in the Redline?
Quality, I would go with Scion over GM, but that's based on my past experience with my Cobalt SS. Speed, well that one is easy (Redline of course). Price, the FR-S is going to be more since it's a new vehicle and getting it below MSRP is more than likely out of the question. At the end of the day, I, personally, would go with the FR-S. I'll gladly give up speed for something that is more reliable and has a better build quality. |

I test drove a Saturn SKY Redline, and i was underwhelmed by the power. I was however quite seduced by it's oldschool roadster looks. Personally, i'd go for the FR-S. I wouldn't mind having a Saturn Sky project car, though.

Sorry, as a previous Saturn owner I have to say their interior is about as low quality as it gets. That said, the Redline was a solid car for performance. I would say give the FR-S a test drive. And Saturn's have horrible trade-in value at dealers, so if you do sell it, I recommend third party sale.
I would also recommend test driving other cars out there like the MazdaSpeed 3, VW GTI, Hyundai Genesis Coupe, Ford Mustang, etc All of them are in the same price range (or cheaper) than the FR-S and it is always a good idea to test drive as many cars as you can. |

I was in the same boat my friend give the FR-S is a coupe and RL is a roadster theres some insurance pro's going with the FR-S that give it more praactical use but still fun to drive.
That and its a brand new car so why not given how old the Sky heck it came out back in 04 and thank you GM picking Buick over Pontiac (yeah thats a big WTF) given that there list of cars were going up and up like the G5, G6, G8GT (miss that last one) but I digress. Good luck with you choice friend.
