Concerns about Intakes?
So I'm thinking about getting a Takeda Intake, (I'm noob at this sorry)
But I'm also wondering if any tuning or changes I need to make to make it run correctly, before getting it. I'm also open to any other suggestions for Intakes! Thank you |

Marginal gains, no tune necessary.
Grimmspeed is a solid intake, get a different, exposed-filter type intake if you're looking for noise. Otherwise, stock airbox until FI. .ck Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

well its up to you,
$45+ for a performance drop in filter with 1hp gain or $200+ for slightly less plastic box with 1hp gain. cheap or bling? its your money.

The Takeda kit you are thinking about has the option to leave the sound tube connected.

IMO just save your money, buy a drop in filter and call it a day
but if your gonna go this route i have the Mishimoto Intake and i enjoy it! i wouldn't have gotten an intake but i got it for free so im not complaining nice and loud intake noise! but dont worry about a tune yet, its not need, but i have heard the OFT does make a nice improvement alone on a mostly stock car i also vote for Grimmspeed! |

Just to reiterate what everyone said. For our car, a drop in filter will yield the best bang for your buck. A full intake might give you a few extra HP but it is a lot more expensive. As for tuning, most intakes do not require a tune, the only one I recall needing one is the Perrin Big MAF intake.
Personally, I only got the Blitz intake because I got it used at a steal and I need some sound in the car. |

See the intake section. I've had multiple drop in filters and the GrimmSpeed intake. I would say that the GS intake had a very slight more "umph" to it than the drop ins, but it was negligible. Would recommend like many people on here to just do the drop in for performance, unless you're looking for something to bling up your engine bay. |

I just installed my Takeda today! First time doing an intake install, I'm just wondering, You know when you put on the main body of the intake, does it go inside the vent that you're suppose to connect to the intake? (I circled the spot im talking about.) Because the stock one pulls out of it, they connected snug, the Takeda just goes over it... is that normal? Hope you understand. PS: Also, compared to stock, did you get any mpg increases? If so, how much! If you can let me know, that'd be awesome, thank you! |

I don't know why you quoted me. I don't own the kit.
