So does this mean that marketing strategies, models, colors, options, prices etc are "etched in stone" 2+ years in advance? I would think all these formats, like swag, brochures, are already in place just waiting for release? Was the colors released because of a leak? Or a crafty dealer trying to get the jump on the competition? How long did people have "inside" info on the RS1.0 before 2015?

Car companies decide these thing months to years in advance. The Twins were seen going around the nurburgring in 2011 they wouldn't be released until a year later as, 2013 models.

As for special editions, we got info on the 10 series, monogram, and RS 1.0 about 4 to 5 months in advance (the monogram was leaked and then we got offical info 2 months before they appeared).

So this isn't unheard of.

No one here wants maybe. Bet they sell like hotcakes to the crowd that wants something a bit more subdued than the standard colours. It is a pretty popular colour on many other cars.

Scion FR-S Release Series 2.0 Announced

https://blog.scion.com/blog/news/sci...cement-images/

If you thought the bright yellow, ultra-sporty, TRD-equipped Scion FR-S Release Series 1.0 was hot, wait until you meet its successor: the FR-S Release Series 2.0, which will be a more luxurious offering of our RWD coupe.

Limited to 1,000 total production vehicles, the 2.0 comes in a bold Lunar Storm paint scheme with a special aero kit, highlights being a front lip and trunk spoiler, and 17” alloys to compliment the exterior look.

But inside is where the beauty lies—there’s a black and camel-colored theme throughout, such as the heated Alcantara/leather seats, leather-trimmed steering wheel and parking brake lever. More camel trim can be seen on the door armrest and upper door trim while the center armrest and knee pads are black. One of our favorite features: a special Release Series badge, featuring a sequential number from 1 to 1,000 to remind you how limited and special this FR-S is.

Other great standard premium features include a Smartkey with push-button start, dual-zone auto climate control and the ever-popular HID headlights with LED daylight running lights.

The Scion FR-S Release Series 2.0 comes with the same great FA20 engine, mated to your choice of a six-speed manual or automatic transmission with paddle shifters and Dynamic Rev Management, starting at a MSRP of $29,510 for the manual transmission and $30,610 for the automatic transmission, excluding the delivery, processing and handling (DPH) fee of $795.

The new car is already posted on the other thread with links.

Looks better than I expected. Same wheels as the series.blue BRZ, it appears. The dash insert is quite nice.
