Hey guys!
Could the lack of torque increase between 5.5k-redline have a similar feeling to clutch slippage? Car feels 'dead' or 'lacking push' in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear just before shifting during WOT pulls. Can't comment in 4th, 5th and 6th gear as top speed it a big high to get away with on the freeway :P I can't smell any clutch slipping and my rpms's aren't shooting up/spiking. I'm guessing it is time for a turbo upgrade to get the last bit of the top end to feel as good as the bottom end?

I like to think of the factory clutch as a toilet paper clutch. I wasn't impressed with it as a factory car and I'm sure as hell wasnt impressed when I took it off for the turbo kit install at 10k miles. Please don't use factory clutches on FI setups. You'll see alot of people on this forum trying to cut corners and we'll it's not worth it.

Question: My car has a built 9.5:1 engine with FBM base kit. The light weight competition stage 4 clutch was put in the same time engine was built. My problem now is that the car occasionally stall out once a day or every other day when clutch in, similar to what other have experience with the bov issue. My tuner had gone high on the correction for lightweight flywheel, but it is still happening.
I had my car checked for small vacuum leak, the bov turned out was stuck closed by the powder coat. the shop cleaned the bov and mentioned that my bov spring was quite stiff. It took him 25 inch of vacuum to open it. I was under the impression that the spring was pre-installed in the BOV so I did not touch during the kit installation. Anyone have any insight? I picked the car up yesterday and it ran fine, almost had an instance that it nearly stalled and lights came on, but it revived itself. log didnt do much to help solving the problem when this happened. Thing is I had never had this problem before the motor was built. I was running stock clutch prior to building the motor. Is this the clutch's fault? or bov. or both. Please help . |

Did you install a prolite flywheel or streetlite? Puck clutch or disc?

I was wondering youre supposed to connect up the pte 39mm wastegate on the base kit with the gt2871r. I know the top port is vent to atmosphere.
Where exactly should the bottom barb on the wastegate connect to? Im trying to run direct spring pressure and the pte instructions say to connect it to the compressor hose barb on the turbo but there isnt one on the 2871r... Unless im blind Last edited by yo.dur; 11-03-2015 at 09:45 PM. |

I used the recommended spot fbm said and that's the intake vacuum which your bov also shares.
