Everyone has the virus, so no matter how they die they come back. The thing about being bitten that kills people is all the germs and stuff in a zombie's mouth. The bite gives you such a terrible infection that it just can't be cured. You die from that infection and then come back. Being bitten doesn't make you a zombie directly.

As for being scratched, they've shown people being killed over a scratch, but honestly we have no proof that a scratch causes the same kind of infection as a bite. You might be safe with a scratch, but someone's going to put a knife in your skull, just in case.

As long as Rick cleans his arm though, that blood isn't going to hurt him.

So as I theorized earlier about how Nicholas was hallucinating that entire scene, I just re-watched that scene and they both ran out of bullets which is why they were stabbing walkers in the heads with daggers. So how could Nicholas shoot himself if he's out of bullets? Unless he has an extra mag on him which we didn't see him change out...

Sick is better than eaten alive... Plus, it's an apocalyptic wasteland out there, everything and everyone already smell like shit.

Of course. I'm just saying I would try avoid using it at all coats. Being sick could end up killing you and/or put you at a greater risk of being eaten alive

What about having an overcoat that's covered with walker stench. Would work well if kept in a bag/container along with a gas mask, handkerchief, face mask, or anything else that would somewhat filter the stench. Or maybe Michonne should cut off the teeth and hands of some more walkers.

Maybe she could cut the mouths and arms off a bunch of them and they could strategically chain them to trees all around the outside of the safe zone. I was thinking chain them to the walls originally, but I figured the noise might draw more so if you take them out a ways and attach them to trees at varying distances they might act like a barrier.

I don't think they repel zombies as much as they work like camo for people near them.

Even then it only works when the plot requires it. If it was as simple as making a zombie or two "safe" and then keeping them with you then the show would have ended about an hour into the first episode when everybody figured that out and wandered around with total impunity.
Same thing with the rubbing the smell all over you. You just make sure you wear your special stink jacket and go about your business.

Didn't they rationalize it as only working for a short time. Not entirely sure how the walking deadheads with no arms and mouth works, but the jackets covered with Z guts only works for a while. Apparently once the "stench of the living" mingles with the clothes or becomes noticeable to the deadheads the illusion is gone. So in essence, yeah you're right lol.

PS. I've read a LOT of zombie novels and played my share of zombie games. These are the names I've found so far:
1) Zack
2) Zulu
3) Z's
4) Zombie
5) undead
6) walking dead
7) Ghouls
8) G's
9) Deadheads
10) Deadfuckers
11) Infected
12) The Dead
13) Shamblers
14) Runners
15) Foxtrot Novembers (code name for "fucking nightmares")
16) Crawlers
17) Creepers

I think I got them all. There's probably more.

It's pretty grim, but yeah I agree. I was thinking the girl with the twisted ankle really should've saved one for herself.

The girl with the twisted ankle should have gotten the hell up and played through the pain!... If it aint broke or torn, better believe I'd hobble my ass along at full speed when the alternative is being eaten alive.
