I think my new "if I make it big" car is going to be a McLaren.

Good choice!

I've always had a sweet spot for the Maserati GranTurismo.
I know it's not a supercar, more like a gentleman's cruiser, I just love the looks. And a 460HP V8 is probably enough for my needs.
So when I make it big and my stack is safely tucked away on the Cayman Islands, Maserati is the first dealership I'll hit for a test drive.

Nah, you've got it all wrong. 1971 Plymouth Hemi Barracuda. Roll around like Don Johnson. Why buy a depreciating asset? Spend money to make money.

I'd get a Huayra. That said, within the Ferrari price realm I'd totally go for a Volcano Orange 650 Spyder.

@Special_K Honestly, I doubt even if I could make it big that I'd ever make it that big. I was thinking their new entry level 570S.

That is an awesome car.
I see it like this. With a money-no-object kind of budget, I'd become a serious car collector.

I'd have a large number of classics on display in mint condition. And a 1971 Plymouth Hemi Barracuda is certainly high on the list.
Like an arts gallery and historic collection in one.

Then I'd have cars to drive on the roads of Europe. Brand new European cars. Jaguar, Aston Martin, Porsche, Maserati, Ferrari, McLaren, etc.

I have a feeling it's not due to happen this year, though.

A fair assessment. I just think a lot of guys make the mistake of buying a brand new exotic as their first foray into expensive cars, and then realize after 5 years that they've lost an enormous amount of money in depreciation.

The F1 has always been my favorite car. I just love the drivers seat in the middle and the passengers have to sit behind you.

Oh yes. Buying a new car is never a sound investment.
People who doesn't know that, but still can go buy an exotic, has had it too easy in life.
