Just curious, what exactly is proving to be the issue? I too have the spherology and like it except for the fact the delrin can be quite slippery at times. Thankfully my hands immediately get sweaty during spirited drives, which makes it quite grippy lol

Getting the leather to wrap over both of the openings in the top and bottom of the cover is not easy. ALL over leather shift knobs have a cap on the top which hides the ugliness of the leather being wrapped over the top.

The ball is under flash, but it's the same color as the car. Quite a bit higher than I like, but had to buy it.....

I'd go to a local auto upholstery shop and they can match that.

Thats true. I never thought of that. It would definitely be hard to make a leather wrapped cover that is interchangeable with other covers for the core like the rest of your product line. I've been racking my brain to think of a design that would work without compromising quality, durability or weight. If I do I'll let you know. I've been kicking around an idea for two semi-spheres that join like my Momo knob. I almost took that apart to reverse engineer it.

So I figured how it could be done:
Presently the Delrin cover is threaded onto the steel core (left). In the below cut-away diagram (right) I show how the Delrin could be wrapped in leather then the leather ends could be tucked in the center of the Delrin in a recession. The Delrin could then be press-secured by the two-piece core which screws together. This design should allow someone to interchange covers. Covers could come in a variety of leather types (perforated, non-perforated, Alcantara, etc) and maybe leather colors, or perhaps even contrasting colors for the leather and Delrin. For example, a black perforated leather with a red Delrin base that may show through the perforated holes. Just an idea you can run with if you have hit a brick wall. IMO, something leather that has weight and quality hasn't been done, so this would be a home run if you can pull it off. My Momo shift knob, for instance, feels nice to the touch with the patinated perf leather, and it looks nice, but once in action it is sloppy, not notchy, and the aluminum hollow core makes the knob feel light and, because of that, cheap. I'm rooting for you guys.
