Probably an uneducated question here but how would a header designed for FI, ie supercharged, be different from the current 4-2-1 EL header with 350/250 overpipe options?

These numbers are approximated off percentages of the 350 when we did a stock dyno run with OEM frontpipe

Quick question, can you feel the reduced torque between 350 vs 150 overpipe (7Nm difference). If not the 150 would make a very good deal for the price.

dj2020: header for supercharged FI probably wouldn't differ, any would fit including stock. But for turbo FI, where turbine has to be spun up by exhaust gases thus placed there and probably where runners from all cylinders met?

I'm not saying you will 'definitely' rub with this header on, but just like ACE states when buying a 350 overpipe, mounts may be necessary. I have noticed that it rubs less on my car when it is cold out (30-40F), so I would imagine on a car with fewer miles, and cold climate, you wouldn't have any issues.
I'm running 150 with no drone or rub at all. Stock cat back tho.

Since someone more qualified hasn't chimed in...

Forced Induction means more exhaust gases need to be pushed out, a larger volume of fluid over unit time. While it's likely that the gains are minimal, re-evaluating the fluid dynamics will likely yield some benefit as there are a lot of complex effects that can take place in an exhaust, a bad resonance (as exhausts are analyzed as fluids and waves they are analogous to sounds) that is unforeseen if you just slap exhaust X on application Y could be a noticeable detriment to performance (or sound), conversely there might be a desirable characteristic target that isn't hit with their existing products when you push more exhaust through it. Unlocking that extra few percent performance is likely worth it for many people.

how do you like the 150 spec2, and are you running a tune? I just a greddy supreme SP, and i'm about to order an new open flash tablet. I'm planning on after that getting an ace header but don't know if I wan't the 150 or the 250. If the 150 doesn't rub and it still does well on the street i may go with it.

Just let us know when you're ready.

We've been getting mixed results where some people have zero issues, and others have a slight amount of rubbing. Thing is, all the headers are *identical* so the variation is in the cars, not the header...

Definitely- Running a custom ecutek from moto-east. I felt almost no difference in the header/150 until I actually got it remotely tuned. Thats when it really came alive.

I really like the 150. At the time they weren't offering the overpipes separately so i got the type B header that came standard with the 150. I think down the road I will want to swap it out for the 350 or 250 because I think the low end torque in relation to the high end hp would be better put to use.

The differences i'm sure are negligible in the grand scheme of things. Overpipe aside, at the end of the day your getting the best header/op on the market with whichever you choose and the differences between the three overpipes are very small. I think csgmike told me that maybe the 150 is 2-3 more hp in high end rpm range and the 350 is 3-5 more low end torque (somewhere around that range), and then the 250 is kind of a mix of the two.

Interested in hearing how the header will pair up with your greddy exhaust. Still brainstorming for a good catback that sounds good with the EL and isn't too loud.

Got some time today to get under the car and adjust couple of things and could not help to take another picture of these header (chrome ceramic coated).
I had to change my clutch as it was slipping like a bar of soap so I couldn't give the car some action, but I managed to do it a bit today! Low end torque is amazing really! It just pulls like a bull!
1. 1st, 2nd and 3rd are just too good. Overtaking on highway became a breeze 4th feels a bit better too!
2. Sound - here it is a bit subjective and also it depends what the rest of the set up is. I have 2.75 all the way so the sound is different. Catback is Evo 3 (with silencers in) and I love the sound. Sounds like is got a good flow - I know, hard to explain but over 2800-3000 is where you feel and hear the power! Sounds angry and yet easy to get up to speed quickly! So far so good!

Here are some dyno figures from a tuner in the UK. This should be helpful for all those RHD folks out there

Thanks to Abbey Motorsports for the data

Test car:
Stock 2012 GT86
ACE 4-2-1 250
2nd CAT de-cat pipe
cobra exhaust system
NO TUNE

Graph 1:
ACE vs. Stock

Graph 2:
ACE vs. Japan brand1 4-2-1

Graph 3:
ACE vs. Japan brand2 UEL

Again, car has no tune. The 250 torque dip can be modified easily with a good tune from Delicious or some of the master tuners we have on the board.

We normally don't like to post quickly and obstruct dyno data.... but we had a visit from Top Speed Insurance (who actually race one of the few Fxx's) and they dropped off a pretty cool car for a new project with us.

Backstory- before there was Ace there was Vintage Speed and Carrera Parts. Don't run away from your roots!

@CSGMike get your a** over here and show these guys what to do with this thing!

Happy Driving
