Still basking in the completion of the wing but already ready for the next project haha. Next up is figuring out if I can retrofit the power folding mirrors to then BRZ (the WRX is a simple plug and play)

spoiler alert. it looks good with the double spoiler. i think i may opt for the more functional smaller one.

So sometimes you just need to go with your heart. After a long thought process, I've decided to turn in the WRX.

While the car was fun, it just didn't check the boxes I wanted from a daily driver the longer I owned it. And in the end, knowing the amount of resources I would be putting forth to get the car to a state that made me want to drive it everyday.

My next car is on order. So stay tuned

Haha yeah when I told people I was looking into replacing a car they all freaked out thinking it was the BRZ. Never! The only car so far that has made me even think about it (and only because I would find it hard not to sell both cars for one based on the expected price of the thing) is the M2. But honestly I love this car too much to get rid of it anytime soon, and I'm with you I'd probably cry myself to sleep for a while the day I do sell it haha. It's also part of the reason I decided to sell my WRX. I was struggling to convince myself to actually drive it as a daily as I would still want to get into the BRZ every day. While I think that will still be true even with the new car (the wanting to get into the BRZ part of it), the new car is something I've wanted for a while so I'm sure it'll make its own case haha

Well considering the way the brz is built wanting to get in and drive is completely understandable. Even though i dont have one yet (sadly) and chose this over a ap1 there is just something that constantly draws me to them, so i get how you feel. I sold my project civic and bought a crv for a daily so i could start saving for one, i think its mainly the brz still has those driving car characteristics i love with todays tech, nice styling and was built to corner. The other selling points were i could get one with a factory warentee, and its the only car out of all the ones i want the gf said "that looks sick, why dont you buy that?" but the older i get i find myself liking builds like yours simple yet tasteful.

So going through some woes with the new car. Got a call not last friday but the friday before from the dealership saying my car was in only to find out that it was another customer's vehicle. Turns out my car has been stuck in port limbo for more than a week in San Diego with no indication of when it'll be released or why its being held for so long. So here's a picture of the BRZ lol:

I'll be interested to see your thoughts on the R. I traded my 1.5 year old 2013 Golf R for my 2014 BRZ. First time I ever "traded down". Actually, I'm referring to price. The trade in value of the R was greater than the cost of my BRZ Ltd. out the door.

As a daily driver, the golf R is great. Comfortable, quiet, fun to drive and practical . It will also haul (not just talking about the hatch back). The build quality, and interior creature comforts are really nice. The VW community is large and very enthusiastic.

Still, I traded for the BRZ because I didn't need to seat 4 as I thought i would when I bought it. It did not excite as much as low slung smile inducing does, and it was a little to grown up for me.

Great car though, and I don't regret owning it.

I've been wanting an R for a while actually. My old GTI was built with the k04 turbo and R intercooler for its overall power, so it's a natural fit . But yeah I severely regretted not waiting for the R when I was looking into the WRX. For the money, I struggle to think of another car when you're looking for that absolute perfect balance of an overall vehicle: performance, versatility, comfort, etc. It really just checked all the boxes. And while I've driven the mk7 R before, after owning it for a few days I'm more and more surprised how fun it actually is overall, even to the point where I could actually live with just having this car (won't happen though :P). But this was what I wanted since the beginning: a car that I actually love getting into even as a daily and having the BRZ around for when its time to toy around on the side. I just didn't have that feeling when I owned the WRX.
