Had a co-worker mill me a resonator plug out of aluminum on the lathe today. Drilled out 2 #30 holes (for rivets) at work then brought the plug home to polish. I went ahead and polished the Mishimoto induction hose generator plug while I was at it.

here are some pics:

Haven't gotten back to polishing the throttle body... might get some work on it done tomorrow...

Engine bay pics coming soon...

Went to a car show today... hung out until the rain clouds made their appearance... almost made it home before being rained on for 2 mins... Damn I was pissed.

As soon as I got home I cleaned her up... almost back to pre-rain clean... lol

Damn I wish we had an import scene here in West Texas...

Also... finally installed my Beatrush drift knob and black switch console assembly.

Just waiting on my Uras aero kit w/spoiler and TRD aero fins.... then paint and install.

My planned big show is HIN Houston on December 19th.

Isn't the intake resonator a functional piece from an engineering perspective? From my understanding, if the intake system is resonating this is detrimental, and the intake resonator is designed to address this.

For most vehicles intake pressure waves are noticeably and measurably detrimental to engine performance because they retard the intake's ability to suck in air.

If not significant in our cars for some reason, I'm open to corrections!

I read points for and against removing the resonator here on the forum... I plan on getting an HKS super charger in 16... The resonator is not used in that setup.

I mainly drive my 86 on the weekends and show it so I decided to remove it. I have not noticed any ill-effects.

Fair enough! Excited for the SC, I've really wanted to snag one when I can justify the expense. The new v3 kit looks great.

For something like a supercharger I prefer a Japanese engineered system... especially since I have a Japanese car. Hell... I was engineered (born) in Japan... lol

I have Mishimoto and Ark parts on my car which are not Japanese but the majority of my major systems are or will be Japanese engineered or made. My suspension setup is exclusively comprised of Japanese manufacturers (RS*R & Beatrush) My brake system is also Japanese... I could have gone Willwood, StopTech, Essex, etc. but I chose Runduce for the same reasons I'm choosing HKS over other superchargers.
