I check back to this thread waaaay too often looking for updates. haha. Post up your installs, progress, and thoughts owners! You have a semi-hesitant potential owner here who wants to go on rides and see how everyone else likes their kits first! lol.

p.s. there will be free beer or burritos for people who wanna give this guy a ride in their car in the San Diego, CA area after install of this supercharger!

In for fuel economy comparisons (both city and hwy) before and after install in similar weather/road conditions.
I really just want to know if the fuel economy issues were resolved.

This does surprise me. Normally, an FI thread would be full of "parts are in!" and "build-status" pics and updates up the wazoo, even "first start" and boring engine idling and reving videos, followed by little to no updates for weeks (most likely due to issues) then finally a review (without mention of said issues).

This makes me think either the handful of owners that have gotten their kit are either too busy driving and enjoying their cars or ironing out issues and don't want to say anything.

This makes me think either the handful of owners that have gotten their kit are either too busy driving and enjoying their cars or ironing out issues and don't want to say anything.

Working a full time job and running an automotive business on the side leaves very little time for my own projects. I am working on videos and a much more detailed review that I will link in here.

As for a quick bit of feedback, here's my impression:

Kit installed like a dream. Well thought out, and no install issues.

Car drives like stock just with a nice bump in power. I have part throttle hesitation like the torque dip is partially back. But that is likely because I have an ACE header and my old tune completely eliminated the dip. Since the CARB tune is intended for factory header, it's not optimized with my header in mind. My advice is run this kit with stock header as intended.

The kit seems to run pretty cool. IATs look good, engine bay temps feel low after a drive, I take manifold is not too hot to touch after a drive.

What questions do you have, or want answered? I'm happy to give feedback where I can.

Edit: As lame as it sounds, the main reason I have not posted pics in here (I have on FB) is because this forum doesn't allow you to directly upload pics through Tapatalk, so I don't bother going through the hassle of trying to upload links.

Edelbrock E-force Owner's thread and FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

Hey everyone,

I was one of the many that were eagerly waiting for this kit to be released from the start. In preparation, I installed a JR oil cooler and purchased a koyo radiator to deal with any heat issues. I also added a remote bleeder for my clutch slave cylinder in case the new blower manifold made it difficult to bleed in the future. See pics below...

Below shows the remote bleeder for the clutch slave:

Made a new mount to relocate the JR oil cooler forward to give room for the Edelbrock heat exchanger:

I acquired the kit last Friday (10/2) and installed it Saturday. Needed to wait till Monday to send Edelbrock my ECU info to get the Carb calibration tune. I totally agree with NotSoJDM that the install went very smoothly. All of the components and especially the blower itself was of such high quality and workmanship. I definitely felt like I got my money's worth with this kit.

It took few start cycles for the ECU to get settled, but once it did...Holy crap! This thing f'ing hauls! It's unsettling at first because you are so use to an FR-S accelerating like a snail. The power is very linear and feels like you have a larger motor. No wringing out the RPM's to get the power. The torque is already there. I've taken this through the canyon and it has little problem pulling up hill. This supercharger has definitely quickened this 3 year old car. With all that said, I do feel that the CARB tune is conservative. There is definitely more potential left on the table.

FYI, I currently have the OE header and exhaust system. I'll be getting a tune using a catless header later this month.

If you are already in the market for forced induction, I guarantee you won't be disappointed with this option.

-Aaron

Very nice and very clean install! Really like the extra mods.

A couple of questions (this is the FAQ thread anyway right?)

-Did you have the NA JR oil cooler? Did you have to extend the lines?
-Any plans for making more of those brackets for those who already have the JRSC?
-Really like the remote bleeder (I've also thought about that after reading the installation instructions). Any more info about that?
-Did you notice any similar "tip-in knock/hesitation" similar to what @NotSoJDM was noticing?
-Manual or Auto? How's your fuel economy so far?

Thanks, very nice updates!

How many hours of labor do you guys think it would be appropriate for a shop to charge for the install?
