There was almost absolutely no interest for me in the SFrs concept. This 800 however changed that completely. Toyota would be a fool not to use it to promote the SFRS

People without legs only.

Looking at the pics I think the trunk will be EXTREMELY small as well.

130hp seems a bit low, especially since torque will probably also be low. Would prefer ~150hp NA or maybe an option for 170-180hp with FI.
My guess is that it will end up like the ND if it comes to the US. In Europe/Asia the MX-5 has a 1.5L with 129hp, but the US got a 2.0L with 155hp.

Given the specs we're hearing rumors of now, could it share an engine with the MX-5? Wouldn't be out of the question. Plus it would follow Toyota's method of building a sports car and sourcing the engine from someone they're currently partnered with.

FT-1: Toyota design w/ BMW engine
GT86/FR-S: Toyota design w/ Subaru engine
S-FR: Toyota design w/ Mazda engine

And I'm only seeing 1 cup holder. This is probably not meant for the US.

For those who didn't bother going through the text, here are the suspected stats: "we have it on good authority that it’s powered by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder, making about 130 horsepower, which ought to be enough to motivate the 2160-pound coupe."

No I had to go back and carefully read where I saw it too. Under the first picture, the first paragraph...

"Heading up the Toyota lineup of debuts at the 2015 Tokyo auto show is the S-FR concept, which stands for Small, Front-Engine, Rear-Drive. Aimed at bolstering the company’s performance image, the two-plus-two sports car boasts a compact configuration; Toyota characterizes it as an entry-level sports coupe—one that is headed for production."

I have no idea how they will fit seats. It must be ottomans or bean bags for seats in the back. Perhaps ones that can be used by people like laptops, sneakers and cats.

Question is... 1.5 liter boxer engine (to follow YotaHachi's heritage) or go 1.5 liter i4 (to collab w Mazda)?

Downsize that front-end grill and I'm sold.

I know it is a smaller car but think that lump in the middle of the hood will rule out a boxer. Unless of course they need to fit something else there...

You nailed it! I would add it to my short list as well except for that big motherin grill. Looks way to production ready to be just a baseline concept though so I suspect the cavern will remain as is.
