Wait, so I'm actually pretty decent?

Wasn't the orange FRS running in intermediate / rookie group? He was always first in line and I never caught him. I moved up from intermediate because I passed like 3-4 cars and realized I was sandbagging the rookies so I knocked myself up to advanced.

No sure what personal weight I'd give the coilovers, splitter and diffuser. That's still insanely fast for a FRS with no power mods. Wonder what tires he was running.

Oh I know the PSS's are holding me back - I keep looking at the telemetry and shaving off areas where it was strictly my line or unwillingness to floor it but there's only so much. With something like say RE-71Rs, Turns 2, 3, 6 thru 8, 11 and especially 14 should be MUCH quicker. I'd say with the same balls, at least 3-4 seconds faster.

I'm still learning though, so no need for stickier tires. Just need to make my lines consistent, not toast my clutch as much, tighten up the braking zones and make them consistent.

I was chasing a black M3 on the second last session of the day, that was fun. He was likely running 1:40 to 1:41.3.

Ha-ha. Daniel (if he was driving it) is stupid fast in his M3. It's almost unfair

The orange FRS I'm talking about was with the OTA shootout, don't think he did any lapping. He's on Nankang NS2R's IIRC.

Good coilovers are going to make you more than a second faster on the DDT, splitter/diffuser are probably about 0.3 combined. Andre ( @Slick ) ran a 1:39 with both kinks on coilovers, OFH, exhaust, OFT stage 2 tune (pump gas, not e85), coilovers, home made diffuser and RE71R's during the Ontario 1500. The extra kink is typically 5-6 seconds slower than running without it.

There was two e36 M3's out... Crispin and Daniel. Daniel would have had plates that looked like real plates, but said "SPDA" on. I would bet you were chasing Crispin around.

How does Ian Law compare to Hanson advanced driving? Both of them have session coming up for DDT but Hanson is much cheaper?

Can't speak for the Ian Law school, but the Hanson school is a good value. I'll be out teaching on the 24th if you make it to that one.

The OTA school is a good value as well, but it's only once a year on the DDT so you're out of luck until the spring.

Also in the spring is the SPDA Advanced Driver Clinic (autoslalom school) at the Powerade center. It's about $150 for two full days, and it's a good first course to learn car control skills. It's a mix of exercises and full autox courses. It does sell out FAST though, usually in about 15 minutes.

I can't speak for Hanson but I did take the Ian Law track school course and I loved it. Ian Law's course is a full day and you get one on one training while in the car. It's set up for 1 hour in class, 1 hour on track from 9-3 and then 3 to 5 is just lapping sessions.

Also, if you attend their course, you get to lap during their training days which means access to more track days!

Just getting to listen to Derek in the classroom is worth the price for Hanson. That guy has an endless wealth of knowledge.
