for what it is the auto is decent. The upshifts are quick, but the downshifts are a little laggy. I could click the paddle and get my hand off the wheel before it finally changed gear.

I think being someone who's going to dd this car and never really see the light of tracks, I'll never notice this driving engagement difference between Mt and at. Roads are primarily flat and straight near my area and it's pretty congested mainly due to construction and being in urban setting. ...so although I would've loved to own/learn stick, logically speaking there wouldve been hardly any opportunities for me to really enjoy dumping the clutch, Rev matching, and manually shifting, at just made more sense to me. I've test driven both and being someone who doesn't really track, like what moto-san had said it gives me most of this car.

Personally I really wanted the stick, but due to family and in case of emergency reasons, I've opted for the at. However there's no regret because frankly speaking I don't feel like I've sacrificed much since the difference in enjoyment was very negligible for me. The one thing that does bother me is the lag between hitting the paddle and shifting time. I'd like it to be quicker if possible tbh.

You can increase acceleration by always driving downhill.

Lolololol As in if one of my family members need to use thecar for whatever reason they can since no one knows how to drive stick and don't want to learn either. Also their vehicles are starting to age so it's just in case scenario

You must own a AT then cuz that statement is purely retarded (sorry mentally challenged people I know I shouldn't bring you down to this guy's level of idiocy)

I own an auto 2103 FR-S. It is not as much fun as my S2000. It is way more practical. Both have there place.

Personally, I love automatic cars because for me, nothing beats the feeling of both hands on the wheel at the same time.

I drive 3 hours a day in LA traffic and shifting would drive me crazy. I enjoy paddle shifting if the roads are smooth, but in traffic it personally gets annoying.

A real car enthusiast will have an opinion, but at the end of the day, won't really give a shit what car anyone else bought, because they will be too busy enjoying their own car.

One of the guys I work with has an AT Mustang.Personally,I think it's silly to have an automatic sports car,but I don't make fun of him for it because he likes what he bought for multiple reasons, none of which I can discount. But even after all of that,I don't have to drive it,and I've pretty happy with the FR-S that I bought.

Well this is refreshing. Not very often that the weekly auto bashing thread is one that was resurrected from over a year ago. Can't wait for the argumentative quotes of guys that disappeared months ago to start.

OK have at it guys.

Or you could just enjoy your AT. Like myself and many others do. Like I love to put in on these topics "I don't need to drive stick to prove I have one", unlike certain aviator, long shorts/short pants (can never tell which look they go for)with popped collar bros I've seen around at meets.
