Ah I see. Nonetheless is it CARB certified/approved i.e. recognized by the state as such? It is nice they are trying to get there nonetheless - perhaps they are going through all the steps in order to get certified

Bump old thread for more info on the SBD kit. Who all is running it and has any one had fans melt at the track yet? I know a couple people have blown motors with the "base map" tune whatever that means (tune that comes with the kit maybe?).

I personally would never run my car without a tune from a reputable tuner that lets me do datalogging and makes corrections for my specific car. No canned tune on one of my forced induction cars xD

We've had zero OFT customers blow their motors, as Shiv custom tunes each one for $195.

We have had some Ecutek customers hurt motors, but we've been very open that we provide a startup calibration to check for leaks, etc.

It's not meant to go WOT day #1, as we have no way to guarantee the health of your install.

Ecutek customers will need a custom tune, which is available for sell through many tuners on this forum.

He offers the base map for free, however as posted above you really should invest in either a custom local dyno tune or an e-tune.

Yea I would say the base map is for driving the car to aa local tuner IMO. Wouldn't even trust it enough to get in to boost if it were me.

Sorry to ressurect an old thread but I have NO IDEA why other "shops" and "tuners" and etc are talking smack and arguing over a competitors product. I am in IT enterprise sales and the first thing we are taught to avoid is talking bad about a competitors product it makes us look weak.
