Yep, no more SPDA/ATTS days planned for this year.

Hanson driving school has a day coming up October 24th though.

It was definitely a really well organized event, and a blast too!

Was a bit nervous at first since it was my first time at DDT, but they provided an instructor who really helped with learning the track.

The mod bug is biting again, going to try to make it to all SPDA/ATTS events next year

Best mod is driver mod.

Do a track school and advanced driving school and they will pay back insanely compared to mods without training.

Best example is myself! I am chasing down a modded S2k at the track - I wish I had his tires because that would be really interesting.

I'll be signing up for the Ian Law class next spring for sure. Wanted to do the Oct 10 class session but thats my bday and I doubt I'll be capable of driving that day.

Good stuff man! I suggest you do the class in the stock tires and absorb everything they throw at you. Once you do, you'll warm up and get a lot of feedback from your car. The great thing about the FRS is that it's a great teacher and less likely to kill you compared to mine.

Once you get comfortable, get Race Chrono (even the free edition) and starting logging data.

All of the above costs:
- $490-$520 for the course
- $0 for race chrono

What mod on the FRS can get you faster that quickly for only $520 on a track?

I'll be attending the remainder of the Ian Law schools in a mix of my DD and the S2k. I'm looking forward to the snow driving course in my DD.

EDIT: Also watch video that everyone posts up - it's a great way to learn!

The BMW trillium schools are very good as well I hear, around $500 for 2 days on the big track with lots of schooling, lunches and even dinner on the Saturday I think, and its tax deductible.. I mean to get to one of these at some point likely not going to happen until next year.

(I use Harry's laptimer, only used for last 2 lapping days but very pleased so far)

Don't forget about the OTA schools as well. There is typically a two day DDT school in the spring, and an MIR (GP track) school in the middle of the summer. Details will be out long before the snow melts.

Ooooh, didn't know about the OTA schools.

I ran a 1:41.6 in a stock 2004 S2000 on Pilot Super Sports, first time running 1 kink only. Was pretty happy with myself though the back stretch with the hump and all was somewhat scary and I never gunned it in the back. I kept my speeds under 140 on purpose.

From the telemetry and my own ass-analysis, I should be able to shave it down to 1:39 if I go balls to the wall. I'm limited by my own fears, tires and brakes. I chewed through my rear brake pads on the 2nd last lap (which was my fastest). Tires still got plenty of life in them.

Carbotech XP10 pads are going in faster than I thought!

I was contemplating on getting Harry's Laptimer since there's no Race Chrono for iOS, is Harry's app worth the price tag?

Yes it is. If you have a gopro or Sony cam it can also overlay your data on top of the video. Very cool

Not really - I believe someone in the Ontario Time Attack got 1:36. I'm 5 seconds slower which is an eternity!

Harry's laptimer is good enough - I have both Chrono and Harry and found Chrono easier to use and log data. Still good though.

Someone was also in the 1:28 range... but heavily modified car.

The orange FRS was running in the 1:36 range, coilovers, splitter, and diffuser. Based on how OTA classing works, he should be roughly a second faster than your car assuming perfect driving by both. The PSS are probably holding you back by another second, so you're down to about 3 seconds slower.
