Post OFT flash and fuel economy

So I've been debating getting an OFT for weeks now. Trying to convince myself if the cost is worth it, or should I get a catback for that sexy sound. Does anyone know if OFT improves economy. I use 94 gas.

Apparently you get better fuel economy by 1-3mpg.
Also dont forget your adding around 10whp and getting rid of a little bit of tq dip.

I am getting a oft for the spring. I however personally got an exhaust first because I wanted a little bit more sound from the rear and to fill the exhaust cut outs better. Got the greedy sp elite, love it, louder than stock, but one of the quietest aftermarket exhausts.

Do you get that boxer rumble with the exhaust? What sort of sound is it?

Rumble is caused by UEL header(unequal length header).

Exactly what he said. UEL header creates the boxer rumble.
The EL does not, which is what we have in our cars.

Why do you care about fuel economy? You will get a slight boost in power and torque with OFT and no performance benefit from a catback. Any changes in fuel economy will be negligible.

It won't be as pronounced as a catback, but upgrading just the OEM header to a UEL header will give you more sound, and the sweet boxer rumble.

Additionally, adding a UEL with OFT Stage 2 tune gives you 15-20hp/tq in the midrange, and around 20hp/tq at the top end. Big difference over stock.

Fuel economy is slightly better... but we already get pretty damn good fuel economy as it is.

@orangespark

have a read of the Basic bolt on mods guide below will answer most of your questions

fuel economy is about same with oft tune but economy is all about managing your right foot. Drive light throttle below 3500 and you get good economy mash the pedal and rev to over 5000 all the time is bad economy but more fun :-)

catbacks for sound only

buy a catless header , UEL for boxer rumble and you will get some sound and also a power increase and torque dip reduction for same price

look at the OFT TIPS link as well

TECHNICALLY, the stock headers are UEL. they were measured. one side was found to be 30% longer than the other
