I had a clunk too and it was due to the endlink nuts being loosened by the bars movement. Turns out I forgot about the washers and after installing them, I haven't had any noises.

Thanks guys for all the tips and help and hope this could be useful to others with the same problem!
I had clunking issues with my whiteline front sway bar and endlinks on my ST XTA coilovers which are manufactured by KW.

After months of insanity trying to figure out intermittent clunking and creaking, I finally realized that the endlinks whiteline specifies for our cars are too long with the ST coilovers. So I ended up buying shorter adjustable whiteline endlinks and now nothing clunks whatsoever.

Double check and see if your swaybar hits the LCA when the suspension is in full droop. That is what made me realize there was a problem.

It's got lots of clearance from the LCA arm. My problem was the bolts got loose, after I re-tighted them the clunk got away. If it happens again I just add some locktite to them to keep them in place.

Been driving me nuts too..
whitelines end links with the Hotchkis bar upfront. I haven't found my clunk yet because I swore it was a top hat issue. I will check end links tomorrow.

Ahhh, I have this annoying clunk too! I installed RCE Yellow springs on the car and the whiteline adjustable endlinks. Thinking of just going back to the stock links if I can't figure out the problem cause the clunk is driving me crazy.

Did you install the endlinks with the car on the ground? I re-installed them that way since there's no stress on the endlinks and the clunk have been gone since then. Some people seems to have problem with the bolts loosend up after a while but that should be cured with some loctite.

It might not have been OP's issue, but any KW-based coilover changes the distance from the endlink mount to the strut mount, so a shorter endlink is usually needed. In addition, the WL bar is shaped differently than OEM, which is why the WL bars come with their own endlink to begin with. For my KWv3 and WL bar combo, the endlink that came with the WL bar was too short, so I got a shorter set of WL endlinks.

What I posted in another thread:

At their shortest setting, I still had contact issues with the WL front adjustable bar and the control arm on coilovers when running the bar on full stiff (a lot of coils bring the control arm closer to the swaybar). Whiteline has another generic endlink, KLC180-195, that is similar but can go shorter, 190-215mm is the spec, and these work perfectly.

Odi at Feal suspension also includes a shortened, OEM-style endlink with his 441 coilovers. It is non adjustable, and is 190mm in length. Odi does sell these without the coilover kit if you email him.

The Whiteline KLC180-195 or the Feal one would probably work well in your situation.

I throw blue loctite on ANY suspension bolt that comes off (when it goes back on).

No, I installed them with the car jacked up, how do you reach them with the car on the ground? Even with the wheels fully turned there isn't much access.

I got my car up on a ramp lift so could work under it. For the upper mount I managed to squeeze my hand through the wheel.

Im happy to have found this post. After installing my Skunk2 coilovers I have had a terrible time with the suspension on the BRZ. To the point where I was seconds away from taking the loss and putting everything back stock.

First issue encountered was the movment noise. I could be traveling slowly on a flat road and it would occur. I would call it a "pop" but honestly it sounds more like pulling different sized suction cups off a glass window. Only in the rear however.

I also had body roll issues so I ordered Whiteline links and P-Tuning sway bars. Fixed the body roll issue but man the noise in the rear was amplified and occured twice as often.

I'll purchase some ramps today and adjust the Whiteline links with load on the chassis. I really hope this works.

When you guys adjust the endlink with the car on the ground are you putting one bolt in on the sway bar side and leaving the top off? or vice versa..Thanks

Why not even them out? If you have 1 cm difference, shorten the longer one by 0.5 cm and make the other 0.5 cm longer.

If you have access to two jacks, it's much easier to do it with the wheels off. Keep the car on jack stands. Then put a jack under each upright (hub) and lift the car both sides just enough till the suspension compresses and and you take the load off the jack stands.
