Yet another oil leak....
So not to long ago I encountered oil on my under tray and, well, I'll let the pictures do the talking... Its right behind the valve cover. Any recommendations on how to fix it? I was thinking of taking the bolt out and putting a washer there... Will that help?

I don't know enough about that engine to know what the bolt is helping to hold in place ....... it could be holding the thing that carries one of the camshafts ..... or, it might be a head bolt ..... or a bolt holding something else ....... I would wager that the oil is not coming from around that bolt (in other words, the bolt is not a sealing type (like a drain plug). The oil may be coming from somewhere else and dripping off the bolt .... ?? However, I'd tighten up the bolt (just for the heck of it), clean up the oil from around the area and see it the oil leak returns. What we need here is for someone to chime in that has had this engine apart ..... and knows what he/she is talking about..... humfrz |

Well, @Astroboy, I'm not going to give you any more suggestions until you have told me you have cleaned up the oil and tightened up that bolt ..... and if the oil leak returned .......
And THEN, ...... I'll guess again ...... (jest ah messen wich ya ...... ) humfrz |
