I wonder if it is because some days my FR-S looks like a cockroach.

last night had to deal with two young kids, they were in a new mustang and a Challenger, probably mommy and daddies rides

i pull up to the light after leaving the gym, they start reving at me, yelling out the window,
the light turns green and they both take off and i just start rolling slowly, shifting at 2.5K,

couple miles up the road, we enter the highway, i only had to take it 2 exits, at this point with the light traffic they are behind me, i go to take my exit and they follow (my exit is a sharp turn)

the mustang is tail gating me on the off ramp, i say screw it, downshift and take the turn going a good 55-60mph where its really meant to be taken at half that speed, all i can say is they had to slam on there breaks, they couldnt take the turn as fast as me

that or im just crazy

Ok, it's my turn to admit I'm the douche this time. I was driving home through my daily route and decided to be a douche against a Porsche (not sure which one). I don't normally pick a fight with anyone unless it happened on roads that I'm very familiar with.

As I was driving home and before I got to the most twisted part, saw a Porsche ahead driving fairly aggressive. Like a scene from Initial D, time stood still, all road noise went silent as I started talking to myself. A well made decision only took me a few seconds so I sped right to his ass. I can hear the Initial D theme music start playing as we both went for it. Hitting 60-65 on the turns where normal cars can only do 45. I was able to stay on his ass all the way :P. I was half shaking and smile at the same time because it's my first time being a douche, especially against a Porsche.

Don't get me wrong I considered myself a very careful driver. I'm not a big fan of careless/dangerous driving. I guess my alter-ego got a hold of me this time.

Why does catching up to and keeping up with someone on a twisty road make you a douche? On some of my regular good roads I get people sticking to my ass every so often, when we're done I usually give a wave or a thumbs up and always got one back.

Personally, tailgaters make me nervous.

Nervous people can do not so smart things. Some people get downright mad, not sure which is worse.

I generally find a turnout if someone is "sticking to my ass"

This past weekend I was pacing traffic in the middle of the highway. All of a sudden I had a V6 Mustang line up to me on the freeway and started revving and trying to mess with me. It contained what appeared to be two frat bros. Normally I do not care about these things, but he was blocking me from entering the passing left lane and I was on a schedule. I quickly weaved around the car in front of me using the far right lane and got back into the middle lane. Geared down to 5th and left him in the dust. He eventually caught back up to me but he learned real quick I was not going to let him pass. I stayed in the middle lane until he approached another slow car in the passing lane. I proceeded to box him in not allowing him to change into the center lane for about 2 miles essentially giving him a taste of his own medicine. Afterwards he slowed down to speed limit, got behind me, and I never saw the mustang again.

I'm boosted by the way

I wish people over here in WA were as courteous as you are. Whenever I am on a backroad drive with a group, most other drivers refuse to pull over on a turnout to let the group get on by. There was this one stretch where it was way too dangerous to overtake (many blind corners) so we were stuck for about 5 miles going 40mph.

There are also signs that state "Use the nearest turnout if 3 or more cars are behind you". I usually try flashing highbeams, that rarely work however. Have to resort to tailgating in order to get the other driver to notice.

Seems people never have spatial awareness. Or they are just plain assholes. I mean, you see all these fancy looking cars right on your ass, they must be doing something, right???

I'm on his ass like I was telling him "Dude, you got an FR-S on your ass and you drive a Porsche. Go faster!".

I'm not sure if the driver in that Porsche think I'm a douche or not for hugging his ass. I personally hates tailgaters because I got hit from behind before.

Same problem here in Oregon. Sometimes the best way to get anywhere is to just use the backroads, but it seems any time you are in even the slightest bit of a hurry, there is a car in front of you going 15mph under the speed limit. I've got no issue with people driving exactly the speed limit, but if we're in a 55 and you're going 40 with 5 cars behind you, I will make it well known that you're an asshole when I finally get the chance to pass.

So cheers to Good Guy Strat61Caster for letting us borderline psychotic drivers by!

@soulreapersteve @Special_K

I'm very forgiving because I'm totally oblivious a lot of the time as well, generally the people behind me are the people who live on the road, drive it day in and day out and are comfortable blasting down a 35 at 65, sure they may slow to 25 in the corners I take at 45, much different mentality down here than up there, always heard to drop down to the speed limit when crossing the border, Californians are an easy target.

I'm positive there's a high chance that a spotted post exists about me where a guy waved and I didn't wave back because I'm a space cadet sometimes and he called me an asshole, probably two or three come to think of it...

Let it be known that I didn't puss-out today when a murdered c7 z06 lined up next to me at a light. FML (Accidental) 6k clutch drop, 18psi and fucking bald, (no visible cord yet,) 7" prius tires.

I got smoked and smoked out everyone behind us all the way through the top of 3rd gear with the ass end hanging out in the other lane! When I finally backed off and hooked up he was easily a 1/4 mile ahead. He had the biggest shit grin on his face when I caught up though which made me feel good. I declined the rematch as I could feel the rest of the road glaring at me.

Even with tires and a decent launch/driver mod there is zero doubt I'd have gotten walked on. Car is a slow dog off the line unfortunatly 0-40mph feel like ages.

Sounds like a typical WA passive aggressive driver to me. When i use high beams people just slow down. WA drivers are the worst IMO.
