Yep. Still only 3 three signed up. I know Derek will be signing up too but I'm still surprised it's only 3. I'm sure the day before it'll be like 5 late sign ups.

The HP+'s used to fade on my STI up at BIR and in my limited experience in the FRS, braking hard into turn 13 after the standing start lap, the HP+ felt like they were fading a bit.

For autox, DCTC and similar, I think the HP+ is good. For full track like BIR, other big road courses, I think a higher temp pad is needed. But if you go too aggressive, you'll overpower "street" tires.

Another thing to be mindful of when you go to a more aggressive pad (not saying you're having this problem, just general info), is that you have to learn to brake later and use more of the brake. A friend of mine said he was running DTC-something and was over heating them at BIR because he was braking too early and not aggressive enough - thus longer pad to rotor contact, more heat, more fade. Later, more aggressive braking = less friction time, less heat. There is of course a happy medium.

I'm still trying to decide if I'll compete on the 10th...it's either compete, instruct/work the event, or go the Nordeast Big River Brew Festival. Too many options!

Typically I probably apex at 110-111 and hit 120 again before I brake at 4 or 3.5 marker into 3

Was that in your BRZ? That is seriously quick! I have going to BIR a couple times a year for quite a while now. I don't often check my lap times but when I do I am happy to be under 2 minutes.

Hey, local guys. I have some brakes and wheels for sale here in MN in case anyone is interested.

I was only at BIR once with these brakes and never got there with the newer pads.

One other track trick I would like to pass on. I slotted my factory struts and used camber bolts to get -3 camber up front. This stopped the edge wear I was getting on the tires. I also could go for longer sessions. Before I did this I would get maybe 4-5 laps in before the tires felt greasy, after that I could go the full 25 minutes without an issue.

I sold my car last week so I am motivated to move these parts.

I also have a WRX spare wheel/tire for sale. This clears the brake kit.

OK sounds good. This is one of the only kits that works with stock wheels.

I would sure think so but I don't have any firsthand knowledge.

You can get the template to check here:http://www.essexparts.com/shop/compl...43mm-disc.html
