2016 No Nav? Should I wait or get a 2015

Apparently one of the dealerships in my area has declared that the BRZ will no longer come with a navigation system for 2016 onward (he was trying to sell me a 2015)... Aside from sales tactics (unless he's right)

Anyone have any luck buying a BRZ 2016 (that isn't a limited hyber-blue) All my local dealerships (5 of them within 60 miles) are only getting the hyper-blues estimated around October 12th. The best I got was an offer to order one that would take 7-10 weeks.

Is it even worth waiting on a 2016 or should I just grab a 2015 and reap the savings? I heard the 16s where getting rear backup and the much improved infowhatever system. Is there anything else they are getting, or should i just get a 2015, take the savings and put a better touch screen in and run my own camera?

Thanks guys,
Hoping to join the club soon!

If you can snag a new 2015 at a discount, then go for it!

I'd wager if you can get a good discount, your own nav + camera will still net you cash in your pocket compared to buying a 2016. Don't quote me though.

Old Nav suck! LOL

Eventhou I like it, make no mistake that thing is a dinosaur for sure with the response time..... Pretty sure next year or 2 they gonna have a new headunit that supports apple/android carplay.

I personally don't care for the navigation. The rear camera, however, is very useful.

This is the first I heard of this. From what I can tell 2016 are just the same as the 2013 also heard the same on the better head unit, that's about it but eh??
Then again you can aways buy the options and have the dealer install them.

I would simply go to another dealer. My local dealer had two brz that where way overpriced. I had to drive 150 miles to another dealer for the same car with the same miles but 4k cheaper. Some times you really have to drive all over the state to find the right car for you. (I did go back to my local dealer just to spite the sales rep)

But really a back up camera for this car? It pointless and a waste of money. If you had big o' SUV or a big ass sedan maybe.

Oh, fuck me to tears. You might end up squashed under a bus tomorrow. If you can afford one and are certain about it, pull the trigger already.

You aren't getting those days back.

Yeah, I guess my line of thinking was if I am going to pay roughly the same for a 2015 & 2016 might as well get the less laggy nav and bonus rear view (I agree, I've never felt the need for one but figured it would be nice to have for those really tight spots) Plus color options are pretty limited with the 2015 right now, basically only silver seems to be left in my area, I was contemplating a drive for dark gray one/black but wasn't sure what I would like since i haven't been able to see one in person.

Well I'll be out of town for work for a few weeks so I wont have much chance to drive it for 3 weeks so I have some leeway to pull the trigger... Color vote silver gray or black?

Dude, get what appeals to you. You really want a bunch of strangers on the internet to decide the color on your 25k purchase?

If so, I vote black then plasti-dip it pink.

The only color I wont get is the red, Via pictures I honestly love them all. Just curious if to know the opinions; at the end of the day I'm going to pick the one I want, I'm going to drive to a further dealer this weekend that has the colors and decide then. I unfortunately cant find a blue or white in 100 miles to check those out.

Pink... hum maybe get a hyper blue with a pink&Black pinstripe... The think tank is starting here...

Dude, shop around go to another dealer the next town over. If you don't want to drive, call them. Don't settle for what's specials menu. Get the shit you want.

the 2015 nav is essentially useless anyways. i used it like twice for the novelty, and haven't touched it in months.

Yeah I figured I'd end up putting an aftermarket with an android link in it to do google maps at some point anyway. I knew the 2016 would be better but my phone still does it best...
