I don't mean to be rude, but lol good luck with that. It's a lot harder then it looks. It's time consuming and frustrating. You definitely need a heat gun at parts. Our roofs aren't flat. The curves are a real bitch to get perfect.

Have you watched any of the videos showing the installation of the 3M 1080? I m guessing No. I could install it on a BRZ roof with no tools other than my hands and an exacto knife. ![]() ![]() with the 3M I did an entire door wrong, peeled it off and put it back on and you cannot tell. |

Dang! That stuff looks cool. I was working while the guys were wrapping their roofs. It didn't look very fun. That 3M 1080 makes it look so simple! How did you guys remove the sharkfins/antenna? More pics of that WRB with carbon fiber wrap please! Thinking of doing the same on mine.

The rear trunk took me longer to wipe it off than to wrap it. The doors would take longer than the BRZ roof and I even peeled the material and applied it myself. Total time for one door (peeling it off and doing it a second time) 20 minutes. Now the fenders and the rear valence are DID take a while, but I did the whole car in about 4 hours - not counting cleaning. And I had no previous experience. If it had been warm outside and sunny, you couldve rough placed the film where it was cool, then rolled outside until it was getting warm and it would have gone on like butter. Then why didn't you even bother to come help us?? We had 3 people use 3M 1080 including myself. It definately took us quite a bit because it continued to wrinkle and the humps in the roof made it the bitchiest part of the whole install.
biggest problem we had when doing mine was that it ended up stretching in on corner which actually ineviatably lead into a crease.

That would have been a bit of a drive.

You can intentionally crease it and TRY to damage it, and then you can just peel it back, hit it with heat to restore it to new, and try again. Try this one: [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTpsq7ivMD0"]NIGHT SHADES 3M 1080 VINYL DEMO - YouTube[/ame] |

I didn't see you were from Colorado.. That was my bad. lol.
Trust me we tried heating it back to normal. It was just too stretched to be heated back to normal. I'll get some pictures of how mine looks so you can see. It went on pretty well and was super easy where it was flat. Much much much better than the stuff @nyrip had. But the 3m is really stretchy.. When we get to the hump in the roof, it would make the vinyl have a weird angle. Ive poked holes in all of the bubbles we had and the hot california sun (It was freaking 102) is working it's magic and getting rid of the bubbles. I would almost consider getting the stuff @nyrip had because his was thicker and seemed to go on by applying a sh*t ton of heat. All he had was just air bubbles. Which is probably doing the same thing my 3m stuff is doing right now. One thing I think I'm noticing now is that since my roof is gloss black and my car is white.. I think the cabin of my car is getting hotter ![]() But it doesn't help that yesterday it was 102 degrees..

@austin_ellas did you end up taking yours off? @Kerune are you the one that took off the gloss off ur white BRZ? I'm the one with the white frs that did the 3m gloss black. It's slowly getting better and havent ripped it off yet. @austin_ellas & @Kerune have either one of you guys tried Gloss Black Autodip?? It's like plastidip but I heard it shines like the glossy black vinyl we had. Look it up. It's what I was originally going to do to the roof before I heard about the party.
