Hey everyone. I'm very interested in this kit. I've got a lot of upgrades planned for the car to go along with it. My main goal is to get rid of the mid range torque/power dip, while giving the car some extra oomph. Also, because of my location, I need to make sure no CEL codes come up, and that everything is emissions legal. With that said, here's a list of what I got planned:
- ACT XT Clutch & Flywheel - Invidia N1 Cat-Back Exhaust - (Possibly a header? If I can find one without bringing up engine/emissions issues) - AFE Takeda Intake - Deatschwerks 450CC Injectors - Velox Fuel Rail - Aeromotive 325 Fuel Pump - Cusco +2mm Throttlebody - Torque-Solutions Throttlebody Spacer - Innovate Supercharger (Most likely the non-intercooled kit) Basically I'm not an auto expert, and haven't had time to show any one who I know that is this parts list. I've tried to do research for good/smart part choices. I'm coming to you guys, who might have more knowledge than me, is there anything glaringly wrong with this, or is it too much for the stock engine? Mind you, I also plan on getting a tune. I'm looking for, hopefully, relatively reliable stuff, too. If it's needed to be known, my driving style isn't really too-hard on the car. A bit harder than most people, but I wouldn't say I race it. When accelerating, I'd say 80-90% of the time I make my shifts around 2.5-3.5k RPM's, and when accelerating a bit harder I usually shift before 5.5-6k RPM absolutely tops. I rarely bring the car over 6k RPM's; for the safe-side of things I'll say no more than 5 times per week. Whatcha guys think? |

As an alternative, you could focus on getting the intercooled kit, oil cooler, and catch can to start off with. But also remember to upgrade your suspension, brakes, and especially tires too. I'm also not sure if your chosen intake will fit the charger.

It's not a definite I won't be getting the intercooler. Just a consideration. I also forgot to mention radiator in there. I do have tires/rims/suspension and brakes all picked out, but left those out as they're not related to engine power/reliability. I was told the throttle body would make a difference with the supercharger, so that's why it was considered. Any recommendations for the oil cooler and catch? |

If you want more then you'll need to run e85, which you'll need injectors and pump. If you want even more, then you'll need to go with the 335 kit, e85, and all the other stuff you mentioned like clutch, but it won't be carb legal anymore, plus it would be wise to get forged engine internals. Moto-East seems to know the most about this kit and our cars so use them as a resource if you go to the 335 kit.

New set of headers and a new front pipe to delete the OEM cats will prove a lot more effective than the TB Last edited by smudge; 09-14-2015 at 03:33 PM. |

I agree. The TB is only really a restriction once you're well over 300 RWHP and this kit won't get you there except on E85 with full supporting mods.

On the topic of exhaust and being CARB legal, are the mods this guy did legal, or would they cause a CEL? I'd love to mimic this set up and get my FR-S sounding the same, plus the super charger. (Parts are listed in the video description, [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-ds7oDlM6w"]here[/ame].) |

Check my build thread or my YouTube channel for proof. For the clutch engaging faster I think what you should try or drive someone else's car with the clutch pedal spring removed and the slave cylinder swapped like in this post as it makes it feel much better. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77390If you plan on dropping the clutch like you're drag racing all the time plus want it to still be driver friendly about all you can do is replace clutches more often as they won't last neatly as long.
