Pure Pricing means nothing more than you pay what you see typed on the sticker and on the showroom menu...that's all it ever meant. ![]() It says nothing about paying MSRP. Go check the website again: http://www.scion.com/buy/pure_price MSRP is mentioned nowhere. . . . Quote:
Yes, Pure Price is an insult to the consumer and should be renamed Pure Moron Pricing. IMO that is the primary reason Scion is a failing brand. The Japanese can be extremely idiotic sometimes when it comes to business decisions. Last edited by fistpoint; 05-27-2012 at 10:48 PM. |

Go to this website: http://www.scionofsouthflorida.com/New-Inventory.aspx search for a Scion FR-S. You'll see that they're 'advertising' selling specific cars for MSRP plus std dealer doc fees of a few hundred bucks. They even tack on some silly stuff like accessories you don't want and window tint. But, zero 'market adjustment'. Then, look at this window sticker from that exact same stealership. Here's the definition straight from their website: PURE PRICE - A DEFINITION Pure Price means that the dealer price you see posted - in an ad, on the dealer's website, or on a menu display board in the dealership - is the price you will pay. This includes vehicles, accessories, and even finance and insurance products. Now, tell me how this meets pure pricing. I'm not at all saying dealerships must sell for MSRP. What I am saying is they are supposed to sell for their advertised price. That isn't happening. To me, this is an EXACT violation of pure pricing and why I believe it to be Scion's version of the tooth fairy. I guess in the end I'm in violent agreement with you. What Pure Pricing really means is that any Scion dealer can sell any car for any price they want... Easy. Last edited by viper_driver; 05-27-2012 at 11:53 PM. |

Scion's definition:
PURE PRICE - A DEFINITION Pure Price means that the dealer price you see posted - in an ad, on the dealer's website, or on a menu display board in the dealership - is the price you will pay. This includes vehicles, accessories, and even finance and insurance products. Translated for buyers: PURE PRICE - A DEFINITION Pure Price means that the dealer will charge you a price for any car you buy, honestly. Let's call that price a pure price. Pure means 'good' or 'wholesome' based on your past experiences. When you think of Scion, think of those good memories regardless of how high or low that price might be. |

Not if its listed differently on their website, which I believe is what some folks were pointing out. You are correct if in every form of advert for this car they hve it listed for $34,595 they are in compliance with "Pure Pricing".

The point is moot anyway because even at its best Pure Pricing is a joke and an insult by forcing $1200 over invoice at a minimum. Pure Price sucks Those dealers you have locally suck too . . . edit: LOL! $399 for tint?!? Make sure to drive your new BRZ/FR-S to that dealer after you buy one elsewhere. I talked with Scion of America about Pure Pricing this morning. Directly from them, it's up to the dealer Customer Service Manager to enforce pure pricing. They won't do anything about it if a dealer is breaking those rules.
Essentially what he told me was that Pure Pricing really just means the window sticker price cannot be reduced through customer negotiation and it's up to the individual dealer to police itself about pure pricing and make its own interpretation of the pure pricing rules. |

349.00 for my dealer in Arizona. Of course being military I paid only $30 for registration as opposed to 350. Which is an Arizona law not a dealership thing...they have to abide by it. I know the "other" dealer down the road charges 899 for doc fees because I did compare.

Here in NC it ranges quite a bit (and usually can be negotiated down). I have seen anywhere from $299-699. A lot of times if it's high, you can get them to cut it in half (like from $599 to 299$). It depends on the car of course, good luck on these ones!
