Whiteline roll center and bump steer kit concerns
Hey, so I just put in the white line roll center kit and after I got done doing the alignment I went for a test drive and noticed the steering doesn't like to come back to center. When I was putting the ball joints in I did notice they were really stiff to begin with. Does anybody know if they need to break in or is this a normal condition for this set up? I'm on rce tarmac 2 coilovers lowered about an inch and some front and rear. Alignment specs weren't unusual. Thanks for any help

I didn't mess with the caster since my last alignment. The camber plates added a little bit . all I adjusted was toe and pulled the front camber from -3-3.5 to -2.5 on both sides

My balljoints didn't even fit my car, Whiteline blamed my LCA from the factory or how it installed, even though we did it was the right balljoint tool, etc.
It sounds like your ball joints aren't settling, when a ball joint is bad, you get that feeling of the steering wheel not wanting center by its self. However, i dobut the ball joints are shot. Did you install them with a proper ball joint tool? Or did you hammer it in the Honda way? It could be an alignment though. Let us know.

It's not uncommon for a ball joint to be too stiff to move by hand, straight out of the box. It's hard to tell how stiff they were from text. They certainly could be the issue, but before I come to that conclusion I'd like to make sure it isn't something else.
Can you post your full alignment specs? What kind of camber plates do you have? When were they installed? Can you post a pic of them to show their orientation? |
