A jet ski in the middle of the road ... not something you see every day

I think this almost beats my car fire post yesterday ... I was heading out to Vegas this morning on the i15 and nearly ran into this ... literally!

Geeeeze I hope the rider was wearing leathers and not a swim suit!

I get that people sometimes lose stuff and don't notice, but seriously, how do you lose a jet ski?

Hell, just about anything short of a semi would have issues.

True! Be like hitting a horse or a cow in the middle of the road (minus the legs)

I'm an Aussie ... (live in Cali now) ... and you should see the damage a big kangaroo can do.

Not as bad as a moose ... but they jump just before the are hit and come through the windshield and kill the occupants.

And then you have wombats ... they are bigger than most people over here think ... they weigh up to 80lbs and over 50" long ... but they are pure muscle. Hitting one of those is like hitting a 80lb rock in the middle of the road. I've heard of them ripping the sump out of a car or demolishing the entire front end.

South of Austin, Texas, we have a stretch of toll road that runs through a rural region of central Texas, mostly abandoned cow pastures. The speed limit is 85 mph. The same region is heavily populated by mule deer, wild boars and javelinas (a type of peccary). A wild boar can weigh up to about 800 lbs. Motorists traveling at 85 in the middle of the night have a bad evening when they meet one of our native species; 800 pounds of pig will bring your trip to a sudden and deadly halt.

As they say, everything's bigger in Texas.

Yeah that wins! Be like hitting a hippo!

A mate of mine hit a horse in a flat bed truck once. He'd given up smoking a few years earlier ... took it up again that night!
