I reckon our best chance to see it is at Barbagallo but the sneaky buggers will probably have a private day...[/QUOTE]

Yeah I was told this is a non public event... How disappointing...

Or not... someone told me they saw one on leech hwy this morning all wrapped up...

I hope the dealers get a few demos - I really want to have a drive / see one before committing. Sounds like everything in the first allocation has been sold though.

Got a phone call yesterday from Melville Toyota saying there is no way it was an 86... Literally called me, said "hi its (forget name) from Melville Toyota, ive rang around everywhere and there is no way there is any 86's in Perth yet"... I told him i dunno who he rang but Carlo at City Toyota has already confirmed that there was a few arriving but thought it was a week later than when i had actually seen it on marmion st, and that it was for press release or whatever... Then he got to what he was REALLY calling about... He wanted to know if i was interested in putting a down payment.... I laughed for a bit... Bit disrespectful but the dude hasnt even got a clue whats going on... I played along and said i thought they are all sold out for the first batch, he said yeah but the september or maybe december order was not sold out.... I said so u know for a fact all the first stock are sold even without the confirmed price, u know everyone who has put a down payment are going to buy regardless of price?? He said no so i told him to call me the second he gets the prices and we can go from there which is monday even though its a public holiday?..

Either way i will be one of the first to test drive!!!!! Anyone wanna come lol?? Always down to meet up with anyone as 86 obsessed as me. I presume itll be on the 18th but ill know tomorrow.

Anyway not that interesting and i will be beaten to the official price by everyone on the east side of AUS obviously but just sharing the little info i receive atm...

On a side note there will be cars available in this first batch as many others have stated... No ones is locked in without a price set... Its possible the price will be good and all those people that did put a down payment will go through with there order but that is HIGHLY unlikely, everyone changes there mind... Its just a matter of are u willing to pay a price someone else wasnt....

Also Toyota are already looking at further development as are Subaru and im betting on a few cashed up people pulling out on the "series 1" on that alone.....

"fart"

There will be more powerful ones but I am not willing to spend more so I am content with "series 1".

Anyone know if they will have it at city toyota? It's in walking distance from where I live but I haven't had a chance to walk in due to work.

Did notice they are open till 9pm tomorrow? Would it be worth popping in or should I keep updated via the forums?

I'll be honest here, I don't even have a drivers licence but the goal is 6 months from now, have already saved up $20k cash and learning in a manual pulsar going for test soonish work makes it hard.

I'm 22 shortly, would be a weekend car what could go wrong? Ha.

Last question, I noticed the BRZ has a "strake" thing for the vent on the side will our 86 get that? or the ugly badge the FR-S has?
