FR-S Nitrous Build
I have been posting a lot about some of my cars 1/4 mile times and some asked me to put up a build thread.
What I have on my car now is a greddy cold air intake and a greddy evo3 cat back exhaust and an NX plate kit with a 50 shot without a custom tune. Im not 100% certain on what else is going on my car, but I have put together an entire build of what im pretty sure will make it on my car. This is a rough list of parts that I put together so I could try to budget my build. If you can tell me if ots a bad idea to run that particular part or option im open to your opinion I'm new to the subaru engine. I just want to have a completely built car to show off what the twins can really do. This list will probably change a lot I dont know exactly what im doing with my car yet. This is my parts list so far. DSS drive shat and axle 4.44-4.66 final Drive if I feel I need to MAPerformance 13.5:1 built engine with head package Ft86 speed factory 3" over/Front pipe FT86 speed factory 3" exhaust Crawford Street Clutch Not sure on fuel pump yet probably denso 265 Not sure on Injector size yet but going with deatschwerks My build is now open to the public please tell me your opinions on my parts list im looking to build the 86 out there and would the community to be a part of it. By the way all my nitrous is going to be staying with the vehicle keep that in mind if you give me any advice on my build. Last edited by dallenj; 09-11-2015 at 09:31 AM. Nice, with boost and spray a longer gear set would be what your looking for. Longer time in gear means more time for boost and spray.

With that built engine I will be reving to 9000. Who offeres an all new set of gear ratios for the trans or are you just talking about the final Drive.

I'm just talking final drive. You mentioned going up to a shorter rear end ratio, that's less time in gear. Revving out to 9k does open up more time though.

I really am thinking about that going a straight nitrous build. I even wanted to go higher compression on my engine, but I want to see the development of a inew intake manifold first. I think ft86club is working on one and so is fbm. Want to see those first. Like I said in the post this is a changing build right now

I recommend it I spent a fraction of what some of the turbo 86 guys spent here and am running faster times. Just be smart about your install. Get the proper safety switches or don't install nitrous unless you want to be a statistic.

By the way I was talking about some of the turbo 86s in Oklahoma. I have seen some really nice turbo builds on here.

Agreed. Can't believe it's 2015 and people are still scared of nitrous. It's plenty safe and reliable with the correct supporting mods.
