We had some kid try to get into our suburban last proving grounds. My brothers girlfriend was inside it at the time taking a nap. As soon as he noticed someone was inside he took off. Needless to say I'm not attending any more proving grounds events. Too many drunk idiots/sketchy people for my tastes. Lol.

That's fucked. I wish I could say Im surprised. Pretty much hit the nail on the head though. Thete are a lot of sketchy low lifes wandering around. We've always been pretty careful to camp in low key places.

I've been to every proving grounds. I hate 80% of the people there. The other 20% is why I go.

I go there for one reason, that is to race..... as this event should be.
I do not camp.
I do not stay after "dark"

That solves all of the problems.

Yeah we weren't camping either , this happened Saturday mid afternoon while we were out doing autocross.

After doing the last COM super Sunday (first non proving grounds autocross),I can honestly say I I'd take that atmosphere over proving grounds.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great event, but the drunk idiots ruin it for the people who are there to race.

I've always gone with my rsx friends. We enjoy the camping and drinking/grilling together at nights We try to camp well away from the rabble so the ones racing are always able to go to bed early and get serious in the morning.

It's been harder and harder to seclude ourselves though. The party is becoming more and more attractive to the younger and dumber generations that are flocking in larger numbers.

Good for them to do what they want to do and this weekend is for them too but it's making it difficult for the others who want to keep it a more serious event.

They should sanction "party" and "quiet" areas like other camp grounds.

Proving Grounds should be about racing, not partying.

I agree with you. I mean they're going to keep doing what draws the kids through the gate and a lot of people enjoy both.

All the more reason for sanctioned camping.

I wasn't saying we "party" if that was miscommunicated. Just some beers around the grill and a fairly early bed time.

Just get a hotel and leave after events. We usually take off and go eat anyways. Not a huge deal.
