I did not bother to watch the video as I've seen enough in my time. Drag racing contrary to popular belief is not easy. The first time you go to the drag strip with your car and try to show your "skillz" you will find out why it is not easy. Even harder to get a good run out of a lower hp car with manual trans.
Drag races at the strip are timed with lasers, lights and in a controlled environment. Unlike these street "pulls". You will find out what YOU can really get out of your car at the drag strip with proof unlike these street pulls which are totally inconsistent due to no controlling factors other than "we went on 3 beeps" at some unknown rpm with unknown differences in starting times, and unknown other factors. I like taking all the cars I've owned to the strip because it tells me what the car is actually performing like on a given day in my hands in a straight line. Takes out all the need to "prove" myself on the street and guessing at how fast or slow my cars are. Oh and the drag strip will tell you if that exhaust you added adds performance or not. |

Seriously, what were you expecting? The 350z makes 100 more horsepower and over 100 more ft-lbs of torque. That is why you were in second while he was in third. He was probably not even trying.
If you are looking for more of a pure performance car, get a Mustang GT and you will toast the 350z. The FR-S/BRZ is not a drag car and was never intended to be. You would have to mod the crap out of it to beat a 350z and it won't be cheap, and you will most likely lose the fun factor of the car in the process. |

Should have used your 26k to get a WRX if you wanted to race six cylinder cars.

If you can get your car 30-40 more hp and/or 100-200lbs lighter, you'll have a rocket. You could easily shame some 350Zs with an exhaust, intake, lightweight wheels with grippy tires, weight reduction.
If you were going around a race track i think the results would have been very different, but "drag racing" on public roads will shame an FRS. Also, drag racing is kind of pointless. But miniphytou, people are taking this seriously because you lost a drag race and then were expressing a notion to sell it because of that. Which is kind of an immature (no offense) attitude to take when faced with defeat. I like that you're going to mod it instead of dump it, though. |

You obviously don't understand the importance/power of torque if you can figure out why you could beat a RX-8 and not the Z I'd say that doesn't make you much of a gearhead if you can't figure this out.

Kids in car seats still and just wouldn't work in an FR-S especially in winter. |
