Why God? why are there so many douchebags driving? I guess having a brand new car with dealer advertisement plates still on has something to do with it pffft!!!

Anyways, having said that....while I was in the middle of my pleasant FR-S cruise I noticed that my Passenger NO SEAT BELT FASTENED Chime randomly went off, and I was like wtf?

So in order for me stop the annoying chime, I reached for the Passenger Seat Belt and just fastened it. Chiming Stopped. It's the first time it has ever happened.

Question: Other than taking it back to the dealer to have 'em check it.....What else should I do?
This was covered a long while back. Don't put electronics on the seat. The sensor isn't weight sensitive it's sensitive to electrical fields....like the one in my bum.

Like the others have said it's electrical. Plug your phone into the car charger and set it on the seat and it goes off; unplug the charger and it's all good again.

Its so sensitive to electrical fields that you can trigger it simply by placing your hand half an inch to an inch above the seat and never touch it...Did it driving down the freeway tonight...made me chuckle

Its the survival of the douchest my friend. You should had slightly braked a bit and scare the living shit out of them. Worse case scenario they hit you, and in a tailgate incident, the tailgators almost always fucked. Happy douching!

Yes I noticed this as well and the dealer confirmed it.

passenger seatbelt chime

Happens to me every time I lay my cellphone on the seat, or maybe a light bag of something. Just googled "frs passenger seatbelt warning" to see what came up and here you all are! Mine stated about 2/3 months ago. Car is a 2013 with about 22500 miles on it. Did anyone ask their dealer?

Dealer fix:

Buckle belt.

...i told em "no" because it looks like #foreveralone and that i'm trying too hard. Dealer won't take me serious no more.

All jokes aside, just buckle it in.

It is irritating when my Ipod cable sets it off or even a damn empty water bottle. Not sure if passenger fart lingering will too.

As it says several times here it is not broken or an issue. The sensor is not a weight trigger it is an electrical field sensor. Anything electronic or dense enough will trigger it. The ovious answer is don't put such things on the seat.

As I said there is no "weight threshold" it is not activated by weight. Two gallons of milk set it off because it is a liquid and the field detects it not because of it's weight.
