TRD parts question

I'm considering ordering TRD parts from TRDsparks instead of going through the dealer and just having the dealer install them when I get the car at the same time. Will it void my warranty since I decided to get the same parts they offer through a third party instead of directly through them? Also, I'm planning to add in a Koyo radiator, will that also void my warranty?

The dealer installed TRD parts should be fine regardless of where they came from. . The rad would void if it could be proven as related to the failure (over heat and ruin engine they will blame the rad). Overall this is a question for the dealer to answer anyway because they are not all the same when it comes to honouring warranty.

If you buy the TRD part from the dealer and have it installed by them then it'll be warrantied for the remainder of the initial three year warranty otherwise it's warrantied for a year.

P.S. OP: What do you think of price & customer support over at TRDsparks?

Really? Here is what I'm seeing on TRD Sparks' website

TRD Sport Parts lnstalled by Dealer
TRD Sport Parts are warranted for 12 months or 12,000 miles from the date of installation or for the balance of the new car warranty in force on the date of installation, whichever is greater, when TRD Sport Parts are installed by an authorized Toyota or Scion Dealer

I'm just currently researching what options are available for TRD parts.

I'm sorry, you're right, I meant to say if you install it then it's a year warranty but the problem is the dealer is going to charge you whatever their going labor rate (they have a book with how long it should take). I had Scion tC OEM LED tail lights installed at a Toyota dealer even though it took the tech 15 minutes they tried to charge me 1.5 hours because that's what the book said how long it would take -I argued and paid for the actual time it took to do the work (especially as that was what I quoted over the phone).

Thats not correct.... Here's what the TRD USA site says;

Quote:
TRD SPORT PARTS NOT INSTALLED BY A DEALER

TRD Sport Parts installed by anyone other than an authorized Toyota or Scion dealer are warranted for 12 months or 12,000 miles from the date of purchase only and the warranty coverage is limited to the replacement value of the TRD Sport Part. Superchargers carry the same coverage.

This warranty does not cover maintenance services such as replacement of brake pads/linings and clutch linings. This warranty does not cover noise, vibration, cosmetic conditions and other deterioration caused by normal wear and tear. Part failure caused by improper installation by anyone other than an authorized Toyota or Scion dealer may void the TRD Sport Part warranty, the new vehicle warranty or both.

TRD customers are responsible for ensuring that the use of any TRD Sport Part complies with all applicable federal, state or local laws, regulations and ordinances.
12 month, 12k miles and that's it. Even dealer installed.

You totally read that wrong. Right from your link : "TRD Sport Parts are warranted for 12 months or 12,000 miles from the date of installation or for the balance of the new car warranty in force on the date of installation, whichever is greater, when TRD Sport Parts are installed by an authorized Toyota or Scion Dealer."
