TRADE auto for manual

Hey everyone,

I have a 2013 auto Argento FRS that just hit 22k miles. The car is CLEAN and very well maintained, oil changed about every 5k miles. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with the car (Carfax to prove it), I just really really have been missing driving a manual. I know it's a shot in the dark, but if anyone would be willing to trade let me know.

https://flic.kr/s/aHskiW2uuA

Never been tracked, only driven as a daily car - driven about 11k miles per year and all oil changes and scheduled maintenance have been done on time. You will be trading for a flawless and meticulously taken care of car!

You should be happy you went automatic...the manual transmissions have been having issues as they near the 25k mile mark.

I bought my as an accident (really did) - bought the car not running from an auction..ass-u-me'd it was manual...regardless for the little driving I do, It's fun to whip it around back rounds with the rev matching auto

Is this just the 2013 models or all of them?

I don't know why anyone would give up the manual. It's too much fun. First manual I've ever driven/learned to drive.

GL tho.

Absolutely, this car is such a fun car regardless of what transmission you have. The automatic transmission in this car is so well designed and intuitive, it's way ahead of some of the tranny slushboxes I've driven in other cars. (Quick tip for ppl who have autos: press and hold trac off for about 3 seconds to disable traction control and really let your wheels slide)

Personally, the first car I ever drove was a manual and I really miss giving my left foot something to do and manually shifting through gears. I drive my FRS 100% in auto-manual mode but really miss actually shifting through gears, which is why I'm looking for a trade.

Not tryna turn this into another auto vs manual showdown, but for this car at least, both transmissions are designed very very well and you are guaranteed to have fun driving it no matter what you trans you have.

Interesting...as opposed to the manual which has a non-Lexus unit?

Yeap. Auto is design to hold 300+ hp easy. Design goal was different, our manual focus more on feel while Lexus auto have more budge & is gonna be used on multiple models.

It's more about what 6spd longitudinally mounted transmissions toyota and aisin provide.

The manual transmission is an aisin TL70 which is derived from the AZ6. The highest hp car has been put in is the s15 silvia spec r at 200 ft.lb. Toyota chose a different transmission for a car with 218 ft.lb., so that's probably about where the max torque for the unit is.

The auto transmission is the toyota a960E, which is used in the 2006 gs300 which put out 230 ft.lb. of torque.

Honestly the money shouldn't matter. Lifes to short of boring cars. I am still in love with my auto mainly cuz I spent so much on my car making it mine but somedays I wish it was stick others I am glad its auto.

Now what you could do is trade it in an extended the loan. You may end up with 10 years of payments but atleast it will be low enough cuz these cars are cheap.
