Hold on a second... you switched to different floor mats and now the factory mats aren't getting worn down???

- MokSpeed, probably.

Beats having holes in your carpet after only a month of owning the car.

Also, I can't seem to get rid of these damn penguins everywhere.

This is great. Now do you guys have a solution that will both protect my floor mats AND the heels of my Vince Camuto stilettos?

You guys crack me up.

First, I don't know what the hell you people are doing to your floor mats. I have 44,000 miles on mine, and the only evidence on the floor mat is a compacted area of the carpet in front of the accelerator that would probably fluff up with a bit of brushing. That includes many miles with steel-toed work boots, hard-soled dress shoes, running shoes and sandals. That spot in front of the accelerator is the only place that should have any significant wear at all, since you shouldn't have your heel on the floor when using the brake or clutch anyway.

Second, I'm not worried about that compacted area, nor would I even care if there were holes worn in it, because the floor mats are a wear item. They're meant to be replaced. That's why you have removable carpet inserts instead of just putting your feet directly on the floor carpet. An entire new set costs around $75, and replacements will be available for years to come. Even when OEM replacements are no longer available, you'll be able to get aftermarket replacements that look just like them.

These heel pads just seem to be a solution looking for a problem.

By the way, when I flipped my carpet over, I noticed this on the bottom:

Anybody know what that is? It's some sort of date code with months across the top, but what do the WK1, WK2, WK3 stamps mean?

Gotta stand for week, but don't know why there would be three dots, one of which is in another month. Maybe different stages of manufacturing?

That's what I thought too, but then I wondered why week 3 would come before week 2.

Sorry if the pic is showing sideways. For some stupid reason my phone oriented it as a portrait, and I can't seem to get it to rotate.

It doesn't, week 1 and 3 are in August. Week 2 is in September.

If week 3 is in August, and week 2 is in September, then week 3 comes before week 2 in that matrix, because August comes before September. That's why the matrix doesn't immediately make sense.

I think it would make more sense if we knew what the weeks were and how they apply to floor mats.

It's the simplest way to make a stamp like that.
It's saying some part of the production happened in the first week of August and in the 3rd week of August.
