Yep!
Probably my most written comments:

Manual used to be so common that it was called a "standard" transmission.
For about 70 years all cars (other then some exotics) were RWD

Your mother probably drove a RWD standard car at some time.
Your grandmother certainly drove a RWD standard car many times.
If you are young enough your great grandmother most definitely drove a RWD standard car all the time.

They all managed to survive just fine for at least long enough for you to exist and I highly doubt any of them considered themselves elite for doing so.

And before the whole "but modern cars are, faster, more powerful, etc" crowd jumps on me, so were the cars they drove over the gen before them. They also did it without the benefit of the 1,000s of things that make the modern cars safer and easier to drive in the first place.

There is nothing elite about manual transmissions or RWD (even if they do have some benefits they also have their drawbacks) but 30 years of FWD automatics have instilled a thought pattern in the last couple of generations that there is.

Actually, you don't have to be that young for it to be your Great Grandmother. My Great-Great Grandmother had her drivers license, and I'm not exactly young. I'm just a product of a string of "oldest" children having their first child right after high school (or before).

Yea but even ^that "vehicle"^ is rear wheel drive!

Well the first Model T was produced in 1908, so in theory anyone born around 1850 or so that lived into their 50s could have driven a car. Heck, my 4x Grandmother may have driven a car!

Yes this is true. All those times I have said that I never really did the math. Shit now it will be longer next time.

I got a buddy who crashed his car because his girl was giving him head. I couldn't believe it until I saw his wrecked car and his girl admitted it. Crazy.
