Door Trim Endpiece Cap Part Number?

Hey guys, so I have a terrible habit of closing the door by pushing on that plastic trim piece next to the window (pic below will make it obvious) and the end cap fell apart in my hands today. Looking at it I don't think it'll cause any problems but I'd rather not allow the elements to try and sneak into the door panel somehow.

I almost want to say it's part number 61256 in the diagram linked here:
http://parts.youngsubaru.com/a/Subar...10-605-02.html

But it's called a 'Door stabilizer' and $12 is definitely too much
http://parts.youngsubaru.com/p/Subar...1256CA000.html

Maybe I need to buy the whole plastic piece? Might be glued in from the factory? (61280A in my case) but at $80 that's a ripoff for what's wrong, guess I'm supergluing it together tomorrow, lucky I still have the part.

tl;dr use the door handle to close the door like a civilized person.

Oh, I'd just glue it back on.

Then make a sign to glue to the car "DO NOT USE THIS TO OPEN/CLOSE THE DOOR"

Then make another sign to remind you to read the other sign .....

Now, wasn't I a lot of help ......

I'm finally good enough at remembering when I go tracking/autocrossing that I don't need post it notes/blue tape to remember to turn on the camera and turn off the traction control.

Yeah I probably do need to put a post it note next to the armrest: "Use the handle dummy"

41k miles, don't think this falls under 'powertrain' warranty...

I also would not be surprised if the dealership glued it back together too.

That sucks! I don't know the part number but I must thank you for the post as I closed my door in the same manner. Time to find some post it notes :-)

I broke mine trying to "fix" it. It was sticking out so I pushing on it really hard and it twisted sideways and broke just like yours. After I broke it I realized that it wasn't the issue to start with and the whole piece of window trim had simply slid forward 1/2 an inch. I glued the cap in, gave the trim a slight push back and all was good in the world again.

Yes glued it yesterday. At this point I think the endpiece is part of that whole length of stripping and $80 to fix it is totally not worth it.
