Fixed!

So you bought a car that's essentially a two seater with not so good gas mileage? Also living in Ohio, where I'm sure it snows as much as it does here,a rear wheel drive car that you are absolutely going to have to put snow/winter tires on.Yeah, this car is the pretty far form being a practical dd as far as I'm concerned.

Even though it's a little more money, you probably would've been better served buying something else, like a WRX.

Not sure why so many people hate on autos. They are amazingly good and there is a reason the auto 86 gets better gas mileage than the manual. It really looks like within a couple decades no one will make a manual just because the autos will be better in every way possible.

Be happy with what you got, no need to try this hard to find bad things about auto.
I am sure anyone can come up with why manual is terrible idea.
P.s. I got manual lol

LOL @ freeway trolling.

Even with Stage 2 openflash tune and a header this car struggles to beat MK5 Golf GTI's.

It just isn't that sort of car.

I guess so. I'm envisioning auto transmissions we can tune ourselves like we can tune the ECU's now. Could be even more connected.

Because there's less of an incentive to drive fast?

Good to hear you're keeping the car and getting Xpel and Opti-Coat done.
I drive a auto and use manual mode more than anything. Paddle shifting

The Auto gets better gas mileage because it's geared differently. If you put two 86's side by side on the freeway at 65 mph the AT car will be spinning the engine a few hundred rpm less than the MT, that's why it consumes less gas and it's also why it's about a full second slower 0-60.

And in a couple decades it sounds like I'll have even less incentive to buy a new car than I do today.

I don't hate autos, I just would rather have a manual.
