Less incredible than claiming Honda has no engine failures.

Hey, I don't post much but had the same thing happen to me this past July. I am still babying my car after it being at the dealership for almost 6 weeks. Driving down the highway and got to work, noticed smoking and quickly contacted Subaru. Blown valve cover resulting from a broken valve spring that basically destroyed half of my engine. Long story short I was initially denied coverage due to an aftermarket header. I escalated the case to SoA and pressed on every day. The car was eventually looked at and they agreed to pay for the repairs. I was also comped the Subaru gold plus plan 7yr/100k warranty.

My point being, these things happen. Always keep at it and stay diligent. Just because you're young (23 here) does not mean you can let these guys jerk you around.

Congrats on the C7! I am eyeing one for the future. Best of luck.

What did you have to prove you did the oil changes? Seems to me if you had receipts for the oil and filters of the correct type dated for the correct intervals they could not say your documentation was inadequate.

So, are you going to do your oil changes on the C7 after all this?

I remember reading about this on the 86atlanta page. So glad it worked out for you!

With the dealer being so much closer and the oil changes being free on top of this experience I will most likely be letting the dealer do them.

I understand that, and I am not letting them. But if they want to do so I will gladly take my money somewhere else.

Dang... your a local to me.

Our Club has two guys that are down. One of them was Rockers shot through the valve cover and the other one is investigating the issue.

Just a quick update. C7 ordered, and my '13 BRZ is on sale on cars. Decided to get a Z51 2LT in white. Also opted to take delivery at the National Corvette Museum. Sorry for the blurry picture, my iPhone doesn't feel like giving me anything better.

For some reason I don't remember forcing you to read something you don't like.

Why are you filling your car with big dudes instead of cute chicks?
