I have a 2015 brz with the same issues. The car has just turned 1,000 miles and I'm planning to flush the tranny and diff fluid with motul 300. Ill make sure to update u guys if it helps at all. I am skeptical about taking it to the dealership since previous concerns have been addressed by replacing the diff which didn't resolve the issue.

Find someone with different tires, swap them and see if that makes it go away.

Wow, I never realized there was a thread about this. I just assumed it was exhaust resonance.
I have a Scion FRS, 4900 miles on the clock, and that drone (sounds like a medium pitched hooooooooooon) is really obvious at 70mph. I don't notice anything at 35mph though.

My brz is currently at the dealership getting this fixed. They are completely replacing my rear differential. I'll get back and let you guys know if it resolves it.

im not sure.. maybe someone can chime in. that said the dealership seemed to be aware of the issue as they are the ones who suggest a full replacement right after diagnosis, and it's definitely under warranty
