Intro
Hey everyone, to start off, I'm new to these forums, and have decided to join after finally confirming my decision to buy a Scion FRS 2016. I will be receiving it in December, which gives me a lot of time to think about what I'd like to do with it as soon as I get it. It will be my daily by the way. I would like to ask you guys, to help me out on a unique build I am trying to create. For starters, I am getting a white (Halo), w/ fog lights and spoiler (Not sure if I should since I see myself getting a aftermarket one later on). Color I'd like to change the color into one of these options, or perhaps you guys can convince me into another unique uncommon color. Here are some pictures of a mobile game I play where I really fell in love with the FRS and customization. I am leaning heavily towards the baby blue, more than just white and the green. Baby Blue - If you guys have pictures of an FRS/BRZ/GT86 that has a color similar to this please post! I'd love to see how this car would look like in real life. It's similar to the FRS T1 ![]() ![]() ![]() Lambo Green - Haven't seen an FRS with this color, it's pretty eye-catching. ![]() ![]() ![]() Feel free to add other color suggestions. UPGRADES - Suspension - First thing I'd like to do is at least a performance upgrade. I will get a coil over suspension system and drop an inch. ~ Still not sure what brand, budget is flexible around $900-1200 around 1k basically. - Rear lights Buddyclub (JDM-Amber) version - I love these lights. (I'm assuming everyone knows what lights I'm talking about to not post a picture (the ones that look like lambo lights)) - Front lights ~ some sort of Halogen lights, like this picture. Still not sure though. ![]() - Exhaust ~ still not sure, something legal, that passes cali smog laws of course. I wish Armytrix made FRS exhausts, they look and sound amazing, although cost would probably be high considering they work on performance cars. - Tires & Rims - Not spending much time thinking about this yet, although I hear the stock tires are bad, I'd rather buy new ones when the time comes. As for Rims, maybe after a few months so I can save up for some good quality ones. - Spoiler - Still considering a lot of options, no huge GT wings that would get me pulled over, a nice size one would be good though. Realistically this is what I'm looking for, around this kind, subtle, yet noticeable. and performance increasing hopefully. ![]() - Interior - Small things, will upgrade a-long the way usually one small thing at a time. ie. shift knob, e-brake. etc. Conclusion Of course I will edit this posts from time to time and will link to new thread once I get the FRS. All feedback is appreciated, ideas, suggestions, advice, especially if I change colors, how to take care of color, or the FRS in general. Thanks again for taking your time to read all of this, I'm pretty excited on this Project and build. Loving this community so far, and can't wait to be more of a part of it! Thanks again (: |

Hello nove.86 and welcome to ......the forum......
![]() First off, I'd suggest you NOT change the color by painting it ...... the white is perty. (maybe a wrap or that plastic-dip stuff, if you want to play around) As far as the suspension, I think you will discover it is just fine for average driving. I have found the the tires to be suitable, unless you track it or drive on snow or ice covered roads. As far as the lights .......have at it, however, the OEM lights work just fine. Yes, I'm old and not much fun ....... but, I do remember, back in the day, putting in "blue dot" tail lights in my 1948 Chevy ..... ![]() humfrz |

A wrap would be good too, just don't know where I'd start, thanks for the advice, I'm going to drive it first to get used to it before adding performance upgrades, I think that'll be best. But yeah I'm probably going to keep the white for a bit and see if I see a nice wrap option or something. Thanks for the welcome (:

Many here will suggest driving the car for a little bit before doing stuff to it. Cosmetics, have at it. Performance related, wait a month or so. Anyways, wish you the best of luck when you finally get the car, and with whatever direction you wish to take it. |

Yeah I see what you mean now, that's great advice, I'll drive it for a while stock and see if I still want to make changes, I'm going to 86Fest so I'll get some good ideas there at wraps too as well I suppose and other options
It'd be pretty awesome to get a turbo, but with cali laws, I don't know how I can sneak it, plus it's a big upgrade, I wouldn't really consider it until more than a year of driving it I think.. |
