Side mirror arm?

So I was pelted with rocks driving to work due to a pick up truck wanting to blow stacks of black smoke out in a construction zone. Needless to say I got a couple chips, but the one noticeable damage was a hole in the passenger side mirror "arm". The part that connects the mirror to the body of the car. I will post a picture tomorrow if people still don't know what I'm talking about. Anyway this piece is plastic, is there a way to patch it? Or should be replaced? Second question, would I have to replace the whole side mirror or is there a part number for the arm itself?

Well, @mikool, the redneck way would be to put a piece of electrical tape over it.

Next step up, would be to use black duct tape.

More better, would be to fill the hole with a plastic patching stuff and touch up paint it.

Maybe get one from a wrecking yard.

First class would be to install a new mirror (parts person at the dealership could tell you whether or not you would have to order the whole mirror).

I'd go with the fill & paint method.

Or just leave it as is and...

"and look at this dude. I was driving down the road and these rocks came flying at me. This is all that happened."

Or if truly adventurous

"and look at this dude. I was driving down the road and this ninja pops up out of the bushes and flings this throwing star at me. Look how close he came to hitting me"

I probably should have phrased it differently, I wasn't intending on buying a new side mirror unless I wasn't able to fix it considering it was plastic.

But you're right I should have looked it up anyway, which I usually do. Just happened not to for this one since I forgot to even take a picture lol.

Thanks for the reply and sorry for being snarky. Too many are just to lazy to look.
I was serious about leaving it as a battle scar but for such little money it might as well get fixed right.

No no, I am actually the same way when it comes to looking things up before asking a question that frequently pops up on the forum. I just sort of flowed into asking about the replacement part after typing if it should be replaced lol

And as for leaving it as a battle scar, I was just worried about water getting inside and causing worse damage later on.

True there is that aspect.

Yeah specially on Peigan Trail coming off Stoney Trail... whenever I'm the first car at the red light, 80% of the time the pick-truck beside me wants to have a go.
