AC Unit [Come here]

So the ac unit at my house is broken and we are looking at some reliable and efficient ac units. I'm thinking about Trane or Carrier. If any of you guys want to share your favorite ac units and possibly the model I would appreciate it. P.S I'm slowly dying from the heat. Bye.

You officially know the struggle. I haven't had AC in two years, and things like this are how I adapt.

How long did it take to find just the right balance before the fan falls backward?

^Another man who hasn't known the struggle.

Isn't it obvious? You weight it down with your old high school text books, topped by another bowl of ice! Although, let's be honest, that's best case scenario.

...Most likely, the stand broke years ago in a drunken incident revolving around your buddy proving he could be the next WWE sensation. Therefore you just end up hanging the fan from your doorframe with some 3m hooks, clothes hangers, and an old belt that will never fit your waist again, but you keep in hopes of one day returning to your physically prime 18 year old self.

Geeeez can't you guys ever stay on topic? Poor guy is dying over there. That's why I hate this forum these days.

Either Trane or Carrier are good choices and are pretty much on par with each other. Just go with the model appropriate for your house size.

Or

Hang out at a pool

I tend to favor the Trane AC a little more than Carrier. Every Trane I've ever had experience with has been basically bulletproof. They also cost a lot more.

Thanks guys. I'm going for Trane, and in the mean time I'll be chilling by the pool as suggested.

Whats wrong with the AC? Lots of times it can be a simple electrical problem. Now if the compressor is shot or someone stole your heat exchanger then yeah....

Is your old system R22 or 410a? You can still get dry charged R22 units for residential install if needed so you don't have to replace the evaporator

Trane and Carrier are both good, as stated earlier make sure it is appropriately sized. Are you hiring a contractor/AC install company? Just have them make you a few quotes comparing the different brands.

Then you haven't hung around enough Rednecks or Latin Americans. I personally learned the bowl-of-ice trick from a Mexican roomate. Then a redneck got ahold of the idea and came up with this...

...Surprisingly effective!

2nd Pro-Tip: Hang bags of water from your doorframe in the summer so you can keep your doors open without bugs getting in.
